The hotel is very nice, the rooms are large, clean, wonderful and friendly staff. Very convenient location, wherever we walked, the hotel is always close by. Special thanks to the member of staff Paolo! We will definitely be recommending this hotel to our friends.

This hotel needs to upgrade its décor. The furniture in the room is old. The bed was uncomfortable, and the pillows were flat. The flooring needs to be changed, and the bathroom needs major changes too. We stayed six nights and our room was not swept during this time. The bathroom had a horrible smell, like sewage, and the water... More

Booked the hotel based on the reviews on TripAdvisor. We arrived via train from Pisa and were able to walk to the hotel. After getting to know the city a bit, we realized how close we were to the Duomo. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and greeted us with a smile. She said we were upgraded.... More

This place was located in a great location, it was walking distance to all area sites and great shopping. The rooms were clean. Draw back was the AC unit was leaking and there was a puddle of water on the entrance which we put up with with two days. Although they tried to fix it and the weekend didn't make... More

I spent three nights here and enjoyed my stay very much in a deluxe room which was very spacious. The Reception staff are first class and very helpful. During my stay they helped with a several of things the least of which was recommending and booking a restaurant away from the tourist area of Florence others more urgent but personal.... More

This hotel is very well situated, we walked every where and it was great. the street its on is just steps away from Il Duomo, its great! The hotel fills all your basic needs, the rooms are clean spacious and hot water and a/c is all in working order. The breakfast is fine and my only complaint would be the... More

My wife, daughter and myself just made a trip to Italy earlier in May. Second stop was Florence and we stayed at this simple quaint little hotel. No complaints. Room was cool, no bugs, lots of hot water and a nice breakfast in the morning before stepping out. We did not go to Italy to sit in a hotel so... More

Hotel Macchiaioli is very conveniently located in the centre of Florence. We stayed two nights in the family suite and then two nights in the spacious quadruple room. The family suite comprises of two adjacent bedrooms and two bathrooms which can be closed off from the rest of the hotel. These face the street but are very quiet. The continental... More

Despite our rather traumatic arrival( at boiling midday,over-loaded with luggage after a three-hour train trip from L'Spezia blended with the nasty fact that there is no lift in the premises)we must admit this hotel was ,by far,the best we stayed at during our three-week holiday in Italy!Very well located (just some steps away from the Duomo),with very spacious and comfy... Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
