We stayed 2 nights in July, 2015. The front desk employees were top-notch. The room was plenty big. The breakfast was sumptuous. The very best part was the location. Within walking distance from everything in Florence, yet not noisy. Only complaint was that the air-conditioner was too cold blowing directly on the face with little control of it other than... This hotel has a great location very close to the centre of everything in Florence (5 minute walk from the Duomo). It is slightly hidden as it is through a small archway where there is also another hotel, but it is sign-posted on the outside. It is also up one floor and there is no lift (but once up the... More

First of all, the location can't be beat. It's a few hundred yards away from the everywhere you want to go in historic Florence. We walked with out luggage from the train station and there it was after a short stroll. The only downside to that is dragging your suitcase on the cobble stone streets. Not good. The hotel was... Great location 10-15 minutes from train station, blocks from David and Duomo, walking distance to major sites. On the first floor of a former palace, it has a very subtle entry off a multi-business lobby. The ceilings must have been extremely high, because the stairway (no elevator) seems to go on forever. The lobby, breakfast room, and rooms are all... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and I wish we could have stayed longer! I loved this hotel. The room we stayed in was simply beautiful. The ceiling was beautifully painted and the room was very large. Air conditioning worked very well, which was important because it was so hot in Florence during our stay. And the... More

This is a lovely, small (15 rooms), wonderfully-located hotel with helpful, knowledgeable staff. We spent 3 nights here and took a taxi only to the airport. Clean. Modern. Quiet. Charming. Very Italian. Easy to find. Great coffee. Extensive breakfast included. Perfect.

We stayed at the Hotel dei Macchiaoli with friends on our trip to Florence this May. The hotel is very centrally located within walking distance to all the major sights in Florence. The rooms are perfectly appointed spacious and very Italian in decor. The breakfast room has the most amazing fresco on the ceiling! The included breakfast was good although... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel dei Macchiaioli on our stay in Florence. We were about 2 blocks from Duomo, close to Academia, the marketplace, and at most a 10 minute walk to the train station. Restaurants are close by and you really aren't far from anything in town. We had a large, comfortable room that was very clean.... More

Hotel dei Macchiaioli offered all that we could ask for during our week in Florence in April. The room was comfortable, quiet, spotlessly clean and ready on our arrival from an overnight flight. It is ideally situated to see all the sights. The bus and train stations are also close. The staff were very pleasant and helpful with making suggestions... More

The Hotel dei Macchiaioli is perfectly situated in Florence, and within walking distance to everything! The hotel was clean and fresh, and our room was spacious, comfortable and very quiet. The staff were extremely accommodating in helping us find our way around Florence. The breakfast, which was quite substantial, was served in a comfortable room with a beautiful fresco'd ceiling....
