I highly recommend Floroom. It is like your own home in Florence. Close of the train station and all of Florence. Great service from the hotel owner. English was spoken. You have your own security, your own flat, your own fridge, amenities and everything. If I am at Florence again, I will stay at Floroom.

The location is absolutely perfect, right in the middle of beautiful Firenze. What a sweet experience to live in the midst of the historic center with such stylish and comfortable accommodations. Rooms were clean and beautifully decorated with monochromatic colors that complimented the exposed beams and architecture of the old building. The rooms were clean, the breakfast ample, simple and... This 'hotel' is in a great location and we popped back often during the day to drop off purchases or to get water etc. You have to arrange a time to arrive so that there will be someone to meet you - there is no key - entrance is via a code which is emailed to you beforehand. There are... More

Excellent B&B: Superb location, 5-10 mins from all the sites Beautifully decorated rooms and air conditioned throughout Self service breakfast is a great idea, being able to access water, coffee and nibbles through the day is great! Simple check in process

We booked four nights in this bed and breakfast in Florence. The room was small, as is the ret of the B&B, but nicely decorated. The location is great and the owner very helpful. However, the room was seriously warm at night and unfortunately the mosquitoes were out and about too. We tried turning on the air conditioning but this... More

Very central location. Unattended B&B with room and flat access via PIN, which you need before you arrive. We had room 6 which was cramped and mouldy (see photos). Shower was very apathetic. Free Wifi throughout. Continental breakfast provided.

Caveat: We got upgraded to room 8, which seems to be the deluxe room which is spacious, has a sofa, an armchair, a big bathroom with shower, separate bathtub and bidet next to the toilet bowl. Seems like the other rooms might be a lot smaller so the experience will be different. Bad points (out of the way first): -... More

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Floroom 2! We arrived a bit earlier than we had advised them so ran into a little glitch on arrival which was quickly solved. It led us to discover Osteria Belle Donna on the next street which was a delicious, authentic resto for lunch. Joel checked us in and both he and Irene were perfect... More

This lovely 4 bedroom Bed and Breakfast was absolutely delightful. Really centrally located - we could walk to most places in less than 10/15minutes and it is less than 5 minutes walk from the main Santa Novella train station. The whole place was lovely and clean and we absolutely loved the decor - very modern yet chic. There was one... More

The B&B is in the centre of Florence close to all the main attractions, lovely trattorias around. Being in the centre it is a bit noisy with all the motor bikes and cars. We had room 8. It was nice, well appointed. Albeit for the thin towels that were supplied. You would think hen paying in town prices the towels... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
