Stayed 2 nights in 1st week of July. Best place to stay if you are alighting at Santa Maria Novella Train station. It’s a 5 minute walk from the station. At the exit gate, look across the street to your left, you will see Burger King at the corner. Just take the lane next to it and turn right. You’ll... More

It was a revelation to see the dedication of this old couple to their hotel which made a big difference to the quality of our stay in what would otherwise be described as a modest habitation. Very near Santa Maria Novella Station on a quiet road. Don't expect any spoken English but the owner will help you with your queries... More

This small, family run hotel (just a few rooms) is on a quiet street just five minutes from Santa Maria Novella train station and close to the Duomo and the centre (5-10 mins walk through lovely streets). Rooms are spacious and clean. Ours had a safe (worth using as the security at the reception desk is very poor) and mini... More

500 mts from the station, a very nice hotel to stay. A double bed & two single in a family room. Owner run hotel, room was clean, small but cozy place for breakfast. Limited option for breakfast. The owner speaks very little English which can become a problem.

Very close to the train station and most of the attractions in the city. Rooms are clean and the breakfast is really good. The owners don't speak English, but they are really nice people and they still try to communicate with you by making jokes.

This hotel was nice, clean and comfortable! The owners were very nice and helpful. They did not speak English- but my son speaks Italian! They had a nice breakfast in the morning- which was convenient and added in the price of the room

Actually, this is one floor of an old building converted into hotel (there is another one in that building) they have 8 rooms, relatively comfortable and very clean. Breakfast is not that great. It is just a place to sleep.

Good location in some respects, but there was a fair amount of noise from outside as we faced the road. The road/area may be convenient but it is not a 'nice' area. Just an unappealing road. The hotel itself is actually just the first floor of a large old building; the other floors are other hotels (!) – I imagine... More

Locating the hotel was fine but exhausting dragging our heavy luggage down the crowed street which took about 10-15mins! Arrived at the hotel and had to lift heavy luggage up the flight of entrance stairs into the building. Then into the Extremely small lift to the 1st floor reception where we encountered the EXTREMELY RUDE and Grumpy looking Italian OWNER... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections.
