My wife likes to save the best for last and that's what she did as far as hotels in Florence. We returned to Florence after a wedding in Cortona and it was blisteringly hot. So what a delightful surprise to find a room where the a/c actually worked. It was fantastico.!! But more than cool air was the cool location... More

Excellent staff at this hotel - very friendly and professional. The rooms and public areas are well-designed, elegant and comfortable, with a great location in the city centre, but very quiet. An excellent find on tripadvisor and we will definitely stay in the same hotel next time we're in Florence.

Nothing to add to the reviews, the staff make this a fabulous hotel, friendly and welcoming. Didn't think we'd use the spa much, but used it most evenings as a wind down to pounding the pavements of this beautiful city. My only warning is the restaurant they recommend to new arrivals, it's lovely, but VERY expensive, we had a great... More

Stayed 3 nights at the Golden Tower. Our room was really lovely - very nicely decorated, clean, comfortable and thoughtfully designed. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a nice breakfast in the mornings which we enjoyed. The location was great - an easy walk to everything we wanted to do in terms of sight-seeing. It was also a... More

First night in Florence stayed in Airbnb apartment without air conditioning so wanted to reward family by staying in five star hotel. My 23 k 21 year old sons needed two twin beds and therefore received upgrade to a "delux" room. My wife and I however ended up in a "basic" room. Wow what a difference! Our bathroom reminded me... I visited this hotel with friends last week. This is a great hotel with a lovely welcoming lobby and an intimate bar tended by the lovely Fabiola , who went out of her way to make delicious drinks for us on consecutive evenings. Her smile was infectious and made us feel so very welcome. The rooms are clean, modern and... More

An amazing weekend stay at this hotel, the rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. You can certainly feel the luxury and the 5* service here. The location was probably my favourite thing about the hotel, located in the centre and therefore amidst all the luxury shops. Walking distance from the Duomo, the bridge and lots of nice restaurants and... More

We were a late arrival after horrendous re routed flights in difficult weather. On arrival, feeling tired, we received a wonderful welcome at reception and a surprise upgrade to a super junior suite on the 5th floor. Room was very well appointed with free mini bar. Bathroom and shower spotless and great for revitalising the senses after a long day.... More

I just returned from 5 glorious days at the Golden Tower in Florence and it was fantastic!! The staff was very knowledgable and gave us great recommendations for shopping and restaurants. The location can't be beat. It's right in the heart of the city and a few minutes walk from the Duomo, Ufficio, etc. We walked everywhere and never needed... More

We were staying for 2 nights in Florence and the location frankly couldn't be better amongst any of the 5 star places in the town. You are ideally situated for all the sights and the shops. Though word of warning if your wife has a weakness for Armani you're in for a tough time. We were given a room upgrade... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
