Room at EUR 75 per night at a great location sounds like a great deal to me. It is just about 5 minutes walking distance to train station, 2 minutes walking distance to the San Lorenzo Market, 10 minutes walking distance to all of the nearby attraction places. Taxi seems to be the most expensive expenses here, but the taxi... More

Hotel Pallazzo Benci was alright. Pros: This location was very good! So close to everything! They take your car to a private car park, which is good as well, as there is no where else to really put your car! Cons: The room was dirty, as the sheets were stained and the bathroom was moldy. The top bunk had no... More

Anyone who spends more than the bare minimum sleeping time in an hotel room in Florence simply doesn't get the point. It seems everyone wants to visit the perfectly preserved city centres of renaissance centres like Florence but expect modern buildings with perfection provided for very little money. Well - this lovely little hotel could not be more centrally located.... More

Florence has always been one of the most important and visited town in Italy. Tourists from every part of the world, especially from UNITED STATES, JAPAN, RUSSIA. The hotel is located very close to the railway station and just a little walk from the most famous monuments. The staff is really friendly, rooms comfortable and clean. Breakfast with many cakes... This hotel was lovely, and very reasonably priced. Staff friendly, helpful and can speak English! Close to the railway station but away from the noisy main road (via Nazionale, don't stay in any of these hotels especially NOT Hotel Sempione) We spent our first night in Florence in the latter and it was awful. Luckily we walked past Palazzo Benci... More

The room was perfect...it was exactly what we needed. It was clean, comfy, location was perfect....the staff was very kind in both English and Italian. In the caos that comes with travelling this was a welcomed stop! Thank you to the crew and management at Palazzo Benci, your sincerity was appreciated.

Perfect location downtown, walking distance of everything and close to train station but beyond the main stress loaded with hotels capturing tourists stepping off the train. The front desk personnel (both the male working the 11-11 shift and the female working the other shift were most helpful with recommendations and maps, and always greeting when arriving or farewell when leaving.... Great location. Very short walk from the train station. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were very nice and the breakfast was good. Lots of restaurants and bars close by. You can walk to whatever you need from this hotel.

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
