It was our first night in Florence on New Years Eve. I booked a single room with a queen bed. When I returned to my room with my husband, the management told us we needed to book an additional room for over 100euros since a single room doesn't allow 2 people. So they wanted my husband to buy one additional... More

A small hotel near the train station. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and tries to be helpful. Breakfast is average but the ladies who serve it are very friendly and efficient which makes up for the lack of selections available. WiFi is free but a bit cumbersome. Need separate password for each device which need to... More

We were satisfied with this hotel. The location is fantastic, very central to everything, which is pretty much exactly what you're paying for. The rooms are a bit dreary, and though the bathrooms were large enough I found the toilet and shower a bit cramped. Breakfast was nothing really special - only continental (cold) no eggs or meat. With that... More

I would recommend staying in this hotel if you are visiting Florence. Location was great and it had everything you could possible need. The room was small but it didn't bother us as we were only there to sleep. The bathroom was a good size and the shower/tub was larger than we had in most places.on our trip to Italy.... More

Room at EUR 75 per night at a great location sounds like a great deal to me. It is just about 5 minutes walking distance to train station, 2 minutes walking distance to the San Lorenzo Market, 10 minutes walking distance to all of the nearby attraction places. Taxi seems to be the most expensive expenses here, but the taxi... More

Hotel Pallazzo Benci was alright. Pros: This location was very good! So close to everything! They take your car to a private car park, which is good as well, as there is no where else to really put your car! Cons: The room was dirty, as the sheets were stained and the bathroom was moldy. The top bunk had no... More

Anyone who spends more than the bare minimum sleeping time in an hotel room in Florence simply doesn't get the point. It seems everyone wants to visit the perfectly preserved city centres of renaissance centres like Florence but expect modern buildings with perfection provided for very little money. Well - this lovely little hotel could not be more centrally located.... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
