4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

Spent four night at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Forgot to get a much needed electric converter and the manager loaned us a spare to use. Breakfast was adequate. Overall a clean and quiet stay. Only drawback that some people may not like is the lack of an elevator. We stayed four flights up. However the hotel... More

We stayed only one night , but the atmosphere was awesome. Rooms were clean and warm. A friend of mine said their room was stinking but ours was quite nice. (it was on the ground floor) Breakfast was very nice. Only two negative things were: - wifi was very bad -there was very small flies in the room.

Absolutely can't be beat the location! The hotel have a lovely ambiance and all the major attractions are within easy walking distance of the Hotel. A small, local, authentic, friendly, helpful hotel. This is one of the great aspects of this hotel, it is right in the middle of all the major tourist attractions * 5-10 minute walk from the... Apparently, this used to be owned by the Medici family in the past, which explains the lack of a life and steep flights of stairs! However, this is a very quaint and charming little hotel that has a really special decor. Imagine bright coloured walls, lots of paintings of old Florence and Florentines from a century or so ago. Oh,... More

We spent 4 nights in this hotel and felt really pleased with it; the interior and environs remind me of the home-style friendly maison where you forget that it is a hotel in its sense; room was good with windows coming to street, and mayeb the bathroom a bit small, still it did not spoil the entire perception of the... This hotel should not be trading. We were shown to the third floor - no lift, the poor porter carrying all our luggage. The door was labelled "Privato" - no number, which tells you something in itself. This was the attic, the ceiling over the bed was like being in a children's bunk bed. No window, just a dusty old... We chose the hotel for its location, just a short walk from the station and very close to Duomo, San Lorenzo market and good restaurants. All the staff were warm, helpful and informative. It's part of an old Medici place, so no lift and very atmospheric. The room was warm and clean. Unreservedly recommended.

We got a bit lost finding the hotel when we arrived at the train station. Its not far but its not straightforward to find. Look for the SuperDry store - thats a better landmark than the ones used by the hotel. So - being a heritage hotel, there is no elevator. And the reception itself is on floor 1. SO... More

It's a good hotel but I can hardly call it a 4 stars hotel. The bath room works but I could'nt say it's really comfortable: one light only, little space to hold things, no air circulation inside... There was an electric kettle in the night table with just 4 or 5 tea bags and non milk or cream but the... More
