Made a late night online booking and staff was already home for the night, but responded quickly and got us tucked in for a great nights sleep with breakfast at the café across the street! The price was comparatively low for the night we stayed. Very close to the station and not far from the attractions. Oh and the guitar... More

I’d describe this B&B as more like a boutique hotel. The rooms are spacious and the double beds very comfy. The colourful rooms are inviting. In the heat of summer, the much needed air-con was definitely a plus. The owners add a lot of nice little touches, like a bottle of mineral water and biscuits in the room upon arrival.... More

Stayed 3 nights in September. The rooms are very aesthetically decorated. The Lorenzo the Magnificent room was very spacious and clean. Nice sized bathroom which was spotlessly clean. The hotel is just off Via Nazionale (10 min walking distance from Firenze SMN train station, as well as the Duomo) which can be a busy street during the day but the... More

Don't stay anywhere else than this place. So beautiful it's hard to imagine. If they had more stars I would give them an 11! If you wanted to you could stay right there the entire time. Guitar room, kitchenette, fantastic Internet, business center. Everything. Thanks Martina! Xoxoxo!

We had a great stay at Locanda. One of the owners, Martina, was very kind to receive us and introduce us to Firenze. We visited some of her suggestions for sights and food and were glad we did. The place is not luxurious, but we did not expect that, and found it reasonable compared to the price, especially given the... More

When checking Locanda Dei Poeti, our room was not ready therefore, the front desk employee offered us some delicious café. They held onto our luggage while we went out for lunch. After lunch, we returned to a beautiful room. We had the romantic room. The room was certainly decorated to fit the name. The common “kitchen” area was right outside... More

When I ordered this bed and breakfast, most hotels within our budget in Florence was fully booked and I needed to stay in Florence for a 5 days to use it as our base to visit neighboring cities and towns like Siena, Chianti, San Gimignano and Lucca. Luckily, there was still a room available here. There is no elevator and... More

I must echo all the previous reviews by saying just how pleased we were to have chosen this. Martine and Irene were so friendly and helpful and the location is close to the centre and to the station with good bars and restaurants very close although we also tried some of Martine's other eating suggestions. We thought our room was... More

Great property, great location, great hosts. We enjoyed our stay at Locanda Dei Poeti and only wished we had longer in Florence. The room we had was very spacious, and very well presented. We weren't disappointed one bit in this B&B. There are plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants in the surrounding streets and a 5-15 minute walk in any direction... More

I've got nothing but praise for this B&B in which I stayed for 3 nights with my boyfriend. The location is great (an approx. 10 minute walk from the city centre) and our stay couldn't have been better. We were able to park our car in a nearby garage for 21 euros a day (expensive but normal for Florence). We... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
