The Hotel is situated directly by the Duomo. The rooms are quiet in spite of their central location.The views are stunning and the staff really friendly. The only small downside is that if you choose a front room facing the dome, light from the hallway may shine in at night. But that snag aside this must easily be the best... more

I just happened to come across this place on Trip Advisor, and boy am I glad I did. If you can afford this place, stay here. End of story. The Gran Duomo was an absolutely beautifully restored hotel in a perfect location - literally across the street from the front of the Duomo, in the heart of Florence. Granduomo was brilliant. I wanted somewhere really nice and romantic because I was proposing to my girlfriend in Florence and our superior appartment was perfect. We faced the duomo (cathedral) and looked down onto the main square which was great for people watching.
