Positives - The room is comfortable and clean. The breakfast which is not included in the price is very nice and you can eat as much as you want. The staff are helpful. The shower works well. Negatives - There is no safe in the bedroom. The noise from the traffic outside is very loud and although there is air... More

The B+B was easy to find and only a 10 minute walk from the train station. You had to ring the buzzer and explain you were here to check in. Then proceed to walk up 3 flights of stairs or use the lift. We were a bit pessimistic when we first entered the building as it was a little eerie... More

I cant comment on the hotel quality because I never got my room there. I had booked 2 month in advance through hotels.com and when I got there, they told me that they don't have the room! They claimed to have sent me an email and claimed that my credit card nr was wrong, but neither of that was true. But... More

I stayed in Belfiore B&B and I would have nothing wrong to point out, despite the noise coming from the street, even at early hours, as it is located in a crossing of 2 busy streets. But, the rest the rest of the things in the B&B makes me strongly recommend the place. The staff was lovely, explained where to... More

Location: good - just 10 minutes walk from center Room: ok - had a slight renovation, good value for money NOISY !!!! B&B located in the corner of busy streets. Close buildings make sound bounce and be noisier. We slept bad for 2 nights :( Breakfast: poor, a bit artificial. Fresh bread or croissant could be nice to have. Host:... More

My husband and I traveled to Florence with our 2 year old and stayed in the Margherita room for 2 nights. The parking was exceptional as we were able to find free parking right in front of the building. I like that there is an elevator available since it would have been difficult to carry our luggage up to the... More

We stayed in Belfiore for the second time and we can't say any bad word about it. The owners are friendly and generous, always ready to help. It takes about 10-15min from Santa Maria Novella train station to get the b&b.The surroundings seem to be quiet and safe. It's also easy to reach the city centre.Florence is magical! We' d like... It was very basic, but rooms are on generous side compared to a normal hotel. Bathroom is in need of repair/refit and was ok but not great. Major set back in my opinion is that there is no one on site after the last person arrives for the day and they lock the breakfast room so there is NO WAY... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
