Overall I loved Cortona Spa and Resort. The staff at this location made us feel welcome, were always professional and hospitable. Best espresso I had in Italy. Not sure why this location was so good. Food at the restaurant was very good. Off the beaten path a bit, needed to use a taxi to get to and from to see... More

We stayed at Villa Aurea for one night and arrived at 1 am after a long and delayed journey from Rome. We were not booked into the hotel in advance but they could not have been more welcoming. The rooms were spotless and spacious with comfortable bed and good bathroom. The view from the windows in the morning was beautiful.... More

This rustic hotel has everything you need for a group getaway. Minutes away from Old Cortona and world class restaurants. You can visit wineries and sample the wines of the region. The staff are wonderful and you can have a home cooked meal every night in the quaint dinning room. Breakfast is served everyday also.

My husband and I decided to get out of Rome and see the countryside of Tuscany, we hired a car and found this wonderful place. We had a lovely outside room, bed was perhaps a bit hard but it was clean and beautifully basic. There is a pool which is wonderful in summer. Sadly there wasn't a bar service there... More

This was my first visit to Cortona and to the Hotel Villa Aurea. We arrived late at 2am, but the staff were still up and friendly. Waking up the next morning and opening the shutters, was like being in a film, such as Enchanted April, or Under the Tuscan Sun. the view of the gardens and scenery was wonderful. The... More

This is my first visit to Cortona and it has been a wonderful first one and I hope to return. The hotel though not perhaps in the best location if your wanting to just walk to locations, is wonderful for that fact that you are away from the noise and hustle of being in a town, yet not to far... This was not my first visit to Villa Aurea. I like the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Staff are very helpful at all times. Receptionist always provides a warm welcome back to the Hotel. When I visit Cortona this is where I prefer to stay. The Hotel has a real Tuscan feel. The pool area is lovely and normally quite quiet. It... More

Our group of 5 stayed here in 3 rooms whilst on a vespa tour, this accom was provided for us including dinner and breakfast. We arrived around 4pm hungry but as dinner did not begin until 8pm we went into Cuciano, 2 kms further on, for tapas and drinks. You cannot buy anything to eat or drink at this hotel... More

The setting in principle was promising; near Cortona my preferred spot in Tuscany. Good rural surroundings, with no so ample space in the property available. This is not an ordinary stay hotel. Unless you are in the spa mood, your purpose maybe frustrated. I grant you we have not sampled the dinner at night, but quite frankly, we were not encouraged... More
