Super friendly staff always going beyond the call of duty to ensure that our frail mother was well taken care of in this beautiful hotel and spotlessly clean establishment. The breakfast room should be a national lookout point, while the breakfast served was equally extensive and of very high quality.

A charming hotel with helpful staff and brilliant outlook over the roofs of Cortona. Small but adequate room, and breakfast to die for! Cappucino, croissants, fresh fruit juice, fruit salad and yoghurt, salami and ham as well! Even Earl Grey Tea, I kid you not! On the Piazza dei Republica and walking distance to Piazza Garibaldi. I would go back... More

This was my first visit to the area and truth to tell I wanted to sit on the town hall steps and listen to the Andre Rieu concert on my cd player and imagine I was there at that most romantic concert. The Hotel Italian seemed the perfect choice, just being off the main square and I promise you it... More

This was the cheapest hotel we stayed in during our Italy trip and consequently the rooms could be described as monastic - but in a good way. The manager was very friendly. On the first morning the breakfast and service was excellent but on the second, disaster! Every table was piled with used and dirty dishes, the buffet was stripped... More

We rode by motorcycle across Italy on a very hot July day and were absolutely floored when we entered our room at the Hotel Italia in Cortona. As fans of the movie, Under The Tuscan Sun, we added this venue on our 3 week trip of Italy. The information on this hotel looked promising so we booked 3 nights, hoping... More

Good - reception and reservations staff; breakfast room on top floor great view All else bad - room large, but very basic; in need of major renovation; no cell / mobile reception except in breakfast room; Internet service weak to non-existent there in December when virtually empty and still very problematic and slow; Internet connection is per device and 24... First, the positives.. good location (50m from the town square, up a slope), nice lobby and enthusiastic pleasant staff. The negatives.. nonworking lights (no one in reception after 10pm), broken shower head, poor mobile reception in lower rooms. Not every room will get a view, so the only chance is the rooftop view over breakfast.

We visited Cortona in February 2015 and had a lovely time staying in the Hotel Italia. We looked out at the beautiful Tuscan countryside from our junior suite window. The room was unique with exposed beams and a lovely modern bathroom. The staff was extremely helpful before we arrived by having a taxi meet us at the Camucia-Cortona train station,... More

The hotel is well situated in the center of the village. This gives good access to the nearby restaurants and bars. If you are lucky enough to get a room with a view, you will have a fantastic view of Tuscan roof tops and the most spectacular views of the Tuscan countryside. The hotel does not have a great atmosphere... More
