A beautiful, quite and well appointed hotel near Cortona. Friendly staff, comfortable room, lovely swimming pool and excellent restaurant. If travelling without a car, taxis are needed to/from Cortona. Also a private taxi can be arranged for a tour of Tuscan countryside and historic towns, plus vineyards. The train station is also accessible by taxi and there are fast trains... More

We've spent one night here, when visiting Cortona in July. The site is located at the foot of Cortona's hill, close to some Etruscan escavations (which we found absolutely exciting). The accomodation is quite good, a sort of luxury shelter in the warmth of early July this year. Borgo il Melone offers cozy rooms, excellent architecture (mix of buildings and... More

After a weeks touring of Tuscany mostly in (albeit excellent) agritourismo locations it was good to get to a more regular hotel for some relaxation. Stayed in suite (last minute deal)and had a lot of space for 2 people. Hotel and grounds kept very well and with a nice pools. Plentiful breakfast. Located at the foot of Cortonas hill town,... We were a group of eight friends on a trip around Tuscany. We traveled around with a car and wanted to stay at a good, affordable hotel in or close to Cortona. Borgo il-Melone appeared to be a great choice – the pictures looked nice, the location was good, and the price seemed right. What a find!! The hotel turned... More

You should choose this hotel for it's architecture, location and the restaurant the re-opened on site (different business from the hotel itself). It has it's distinct personality on a superb setting - this is NOT the place you'll be referring to as "some hotel I've slept in". Important - it comes with a friendly, helping well trained staff. Helping staff... More

From the moment you pull into the beautiful drive way you feel and know that you are in Tuscany. One little warning make sure you have the email instructions from the hotel on how to find the place. It's pretty tricky, GPS in the car and on my cell phone, give up pull over and ask someone. It's on the... More

Thanks Dear Guest, actually the gps doesn't give the right information and that's why we always send an email with much easier directions to get here. About the rest we are glad you had a nice experience at Borgo il Melone and we think that we will meet again .... soon in Cortona More

Our favourite place we stayed at during our 9-day trip to Tuscany. Feels more like a home than a hotel. The staff were kind and our room was immaculately clean. Breakfast was superb with a great choice of meats, cake, bread and lots more. Amazingly was actually cheaper than most other stays that were of far lesser quality. Highly recommended!

We arrived at Borgo il Melone after a two hour flight from London and were immediately shown to a nice, big room. There were two bedrooms, a small lounge and two bathrooms. We fell in love with it after a day! The evening restaurant could've been better but it was OK. The breakfast is a buffet and it's a decent... More
