Villa Baldelli is a beautiful small hotel located about 6 minutes below the Tuscan city of Cortona. We were greeted by Margherita, who treated us like we were family. Our room was perfect, the grounds beautiful, and a bountiful Italian breakfast with amazing coffee. The staff was helpful with our every need. They are warm, friendly and truly care about... more

No matter the season, Villa Baldelli is authentically rustic through building materials: wood, stucco, marble, stones, pebbles, tiles; yet charmingly elegant in guest suites, bath spaces, and all common areas with antique, yet comfortable, furnishings, carvings, wall hangings, linens, and table settings. The setting is truly rural Tuscan landscape; yet it is only a ten-minute drive to Cortona for shopping,... more

My wife and I reserved 6 nights at this Villa near Cortona hilltop town after reading their website which showed an entire "Activities" section advertising that they can help with horseback riding, cooking classes, wine tours, etc. for your full Tuscan active experience. When we got to the hotel and asked about these things, the reception said they had nothing... more

The Relais Villa Baldelli Management would like to answer to these very kind guests. All the activities described in our website were and are always possible to do but : 1.Guests required at their arrival only a Wine Tour in the Chianti region and the Front Office immediately contacted Mr. Andrea who is the Tour Driver and Guide for these...

If you would like to be transported back to a time when "Customer Service" was a MUST, then this is the hotel for you to stay at. From the owner Vittorio, who so gracefully picked us up from the train station, to Margarita at the front desk, to the lovely girl (I apologize but I did not get her name),... more

The hotel and staff could not do enough for you. We had a lovely room and the bathroom was superb with a spa bath. Cleanliness was fantastic, Only draw back was that Cortona is a couple of miles away and the hotel I think should think about a shuttle bus service as they do not do food you therefore are... more

We loved staying at the Relais Villa Baldelli, a 17th century manor house situated just below the lovely hill top village of Cortona. The rooms were unusually spacious, with timbered ceilings, beautifully tiled floors and furnished with authentic antiques of that era. The staff could not do enough for us, serving wine in the beautiful garden and attending to our... more

One of the most disappointing hotels on our 2 week trip to Tuscany. It seemed like everything was undone or not working. Elevator broke every night. WiFi never did work. Morning calls failed to ring. Night person cannot understand a word of English. Doors to the gardens locked and not opened during the day. Pool was closed and covered. Grounds... more

Dear Sirs, We were very sad to read your review about our Relais. We remember your visit on April 29th, 2009 and we would like to provide our response to your negative review. 1.It’s true that we had some problem with the elevator at the time of your arrival but it was repaired early the next morning; 2.As you may...

We stayed here for 4 nights for our honeymoon. Villa Baldelli is no doubt a beautiful place, the grounds and rooms are fabulous. The bathrooms are advertised as state of the art - they're really not, we had a creaky shower and a bulb not working which wasn't replaced when we asked. Once you get onto the main road nearby... more

My partner and I stayed here for a couple of nights after a holiday in the Marche. The hotel is around 10 mins drive from Cortona, and a good option during the summer when the town gets quite crowded. The nicest things about it are the garden, which is very peaceful, and the pool, which has a great view up... more

Can't say enough about this wonderful, small Hotel. We stayed there 3 days -at first because of it's central location (great starting off place for Assisi,Pienza,Montepulciano) -and then for it's straight forward beauty. It's beautifully done (try rm 22),and has a spectacular view of Cortona (10 minutes away). The staff was absolutely terrific -warm,helpful,efficient...and the price was EXTREMELY reasonable given how low the... more
