This is definitely my favourite hotel in all of Tuscany. I have stayed there twice, the second time for ten days. The owners and staff go out of their way to make you feel very welcome and at home. The breakfast is a feast of local treats and home made specials. Make sure you enjoy the pre dinner hors d'oeuvres... More

My teen daughters and husband and I had spent a long hot day in hill towns. Then we happened upson the Villa Marsili in Cortona. We were so excited that they had rooms -- we didn't have a reservation. The hostess was charming and welcoming. The room were big, immaculate, comfortable. The service is perfect -- ask for a recommendation... More

This was a great stay in a place that take care of you, and help you in any way, from parking your car, to make cookies for the girls to have for their way home. The stuff is always helping. the suite is great, with a great view and with all sort of treats from fruits and sweets in the... More

It was late at night when we get there after a 10 hour motorcycle trip (as so full of dead insects on our clothes, dirty and smelly) but the old lady of the villa was extremely kind. She descibed the next morning breakfast as there are no words to describe its marvellousness, and she was right. Breakfast was just as... More

We had two wonderful nights here in October! Great staff and service. Reception staff spent a lot of time helping us with train tickets and other issues. The breakfasts were the best we had in Tuscany - wow!. The room was spacious and the view from our room was amazing. The bed was comfortable. We highly recommend this hotel and... More

My wife and I spent 4 nights in early September. This was our third trip to Tuscany and we chose Cortona as our base for exploring the southern region. It was an excellent choice as we love visiting wineries, and Montelpulciano and Montalcino are close by. The hotel is a short walk to the town center for restaurants, sightseeing and... More

Perched high on the Cortona hillside with magnificent valley views sits Villa Marsili. The old building, originally a 15th century church, has been artfully restored into 26 lovely rooms, each unique with decorative touches. For example, by my bedside there was an old silver gravy boat filled with candy. Large colorful bowls of persimmons, pomegranates, and fall leaves decorated the... More

The staff at this hotel are wonderful...they care, they anticipate your needs, they know the local area...One of the loveliest places we have stayed in Italy. If you want an authentic experience of Italy, this is it. We have travelled the world and we would come back in a heart beat.

Cortona itself is spectacular just on its own, literally built into a hillside. But to add such a gem of a hotel as the Villa Marsili is almost unbelievable. We had a wonderful room with a beautiful view. All the people working there were a delight, but we have to make a special call-out to both Yoana and Valentina who... More
