We spent a week in Vila Ugo on a yoga retreat last September. It was just the perfect place for relaxing and enjoy a peaceful holiday. The surrounds and view from the house are absolutely stunning. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Ugo and his wife are incredible hosts and we were very luck to have Ada cooking... More

We recently returned home after 3 weeks in Villa Ugo - Villa Orlando, and it was very hard to leave! Villa Orlando's large 4 bedroom/4 bath arrangement was perfect for family and friends. The house itself is beautifully restored, furnished and cared for with all the amenities provided. Separate living rooms on both the ground floor and upper level offered... More

We spent a yoga week at Villa Ugo, and it was the perfect place to be on a retreat to practice and relax. It is very beautiful, with wonderful decorated spaces, it is peaceful with surrounding pine trees and with access to many beautiful surrounding walks and up into Cortona through olive groves and forest paths. The swimming pool was... More

There are simply not enough adjectives to describe Villa Ugo- Villa Nello. The setting is amazing, quiet, beautiful views and a superb villa with pool to boot! I had visited Villa Ugo with my late husband and friends some years ago and we stayed at Villa Liliana prior to the renovations. So when we started to plan a family reunion... More

We spent a week in Villa Ugo, so beautiful and peaceful. The owners looked after us very well and the meals were amazing. I am looking forward to going again with my family. Easy to visit the surrounding beautiful cities when you have a car.

Villa Ugo was recommended to us by a colleague in 2011 and our first stay then certainly lived up, if not exceeded our expectations. During our holiday we stayed at Villa Lilliana (before the renovation) and were very impressed with the villa, hospitality and location. We liked it so much that two years later we decided to get married in... More

This was our first trip to Tuscany, so we cannot compare with other offers in the area, but we are well-traveled, so know what to expect in general. And boy, Villa di Nello was nearly flawless. I honestly cannot really fault it. Yes, the driveway is steep (yet I had no problem with my large car (4m80)). No, the place... More

We recently stayed in this lovely villa for a week. I wish it could have been longer but we had more of Italy to see. Villa Lilliana was very comfortable with a large private pool a short walk from our front door. When we arrived the air conditioning was not working but Ugo made sure that by nights end it... More

We stayed with our 2 boys, and another family in Villa Lilliana for a week this past June (2013). I must say I am one to ALWAYS read reviews and research places before we travel but I haven't ever written a review....this time is different. We have traveled Europe and been to Italy a number of times. I feel I have... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Near the center of the aptly-named Golden Valley of the Chiana River (the Valdichiana), some 400 meters above sea level but just a few kilometers from the town Cortona, Villa Ugo encompasses every quality of Tuscan charm, simplicity and rural beauty. Since 1890, my family, the Sabatini’s have lived in the 16th century Villa Ugo, surrounded by over 11 hectares of olive groves and vineyards. The groves were once divided into three fields, where secondary houses were inhabited by tenant farmers. These three Villas also date, in part, to the 16th century, and I have carefully and beautifully restored them while maintaining the style, history and culture of the area and mindfully adding all the modern amenities and comforts. During your visit, you'll enjoy almost intoxicating peace, glorious vistas, and direct contact with nature in these three independent villas, Casa Liliana, Casa di Nello and Casa di OrlandoMy family provides a personal welcome to you, and discreetly ensures that you will be well looked-after during your stay, catering to your needs, and assisting with most any requirement to guarantee your visit is a memorable one.Come join us here at Villa Ugo, with all of Eastern Tuscany, western Umbria and central Italy nearby to welcome your relaxation and exploration!Ugo Sabatini ... more   less
