My husband and I came to Cortona in July 2014 and stayed at Il Glicine. Our intention was to stay one week here and move on but we stayed 2 weeks. It is a fabulous property. Luckily Alessandro had availability. We truly felt that we lived the Italian lifestyle while living in this house. The pictures don't do it justice.... More

I happened upon this vacation rental through HomeAway.com, from whom I've rented on a number of occasions, and never been disappointed. However, Il Glicine topped them all! Cortona's main piazza is only 2-3 minutes away by foot, and makes a wonderful base for touring east Tuscany and Umbria, or for just relaxing and soaking in "la dolce vita." Alessandro and... More

Having stayed in Cortona previously (right in the main Piazza), we did not expect our next stay (the whole of December 2013) could be better than we had experienced. Allesandro and Marzia certainly proved us wrong! Il Glicine is brilliantly located at 100m from the end of Via Nazionale which is the town's main street. Abundant free parking is available... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending a week at Il Glicine recently and could not have been happier with our accommodation. The house is beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, with a lovely private garden and is located within very easy walking distance (a matter of metres) of the main street of Cortona. The owners, Alessandro and Marzia are... More

We have stayed in Cortona many times before, always in a hotel in the old town, but even the best hotel leaves you feeling a little regimented after a few days. What we really wanted was a little house with a quiet garden also at the top of the hill. We have found it! Not only did it fulfil our... More

Everything about our stay in Cortona was perfect (except for the weather) thanks to Alesandro and Il Glicine. The location, on the edge of main street Cortona with nearby parking, the very private garden and wonderful home. The accomodations were very roomy and we had much more space than needed. The bedroom had lots of storage and was comfortably furnished.... More

We spent a lovely week in Il Glicine in August. Alessandro and his wife Marzia were extremely helpful. They provided a new travel cot and bedding for our little boy of 9 months. The apartment is very well equipped and clean. It is also very spacious so great for families and better than a hotel in many ways as you... More

My husband and I were lucky enough to recently spend a month at Il Glicine for my 60th birthday. Our extended stay fulfilled a dream that we’ve had for a long time. Il Glicine/Cortona is a great location for day tripping throughout Tuscany and even parts of Umbria, Marche and Emilia Romagna. While we rented a car, it is not... More

So far, we have never seen Il Glicine. Our scheduled trip was disrupted by illness which totally refocused our attention from Tuscany. While I worked to cancel the many arrangements in place I was asked for a variety of documentation, forms, etc. But, when I wrote Alessandro, he replied with a kind note of concern for my wife and the...
