My wife and I stayed for almost ten days at Novole. If you're looking for a true Tuscan get-away, then this is it. The countryside is beautiful and being so close to Cortona makes this a good deal. Lucio even taught us how to forage and cook wild funghi (mushrooms) found on his property. It was olive picking season (who... More

It's not easy to write something that was not written in previous reviews. This place has a really special charm, unique atmosphere, 'genius loci', simply something what you can't resist. If you still haven't found the right place for authentic holiday stay, this former monastery - which is lost in the middle of deep forests and where time goes incredibly... More

I know this place from a few years back and it was still the same: beautiful! For me it's like a little paradise. The houses are really pretty and the area is so nice! You can also make walks. I would recommend Novole to anyone how loves relaxing and being in a absolute peaceful place!

We stayed here during the summer of 2013. Lucio welcomed us warmly in this ancient monastry which has been renovated without losing it's originality. We enjoyed the rest and peacefulness of the place and its beautiful surroundings and still think of it when tasting Lucio's tasty Novole olive oil.

We stayed a week in the cottage, which is beautiful and even it´s not huge it is still very comfortable an with a nice terrace. Pros: Lucio is a wonderful host - extremely friendy and relaxed and always there, if there was a problem. The place itself is very old and renovated with plenty of love without loosing the character... More

I arrived in Novole at the end of July, after a never-ending winter in London. I drove to Arezzo, then I borrowed a bicycle from a friend. From there, I cycled all the way to Novole. It was a fantastic trip and Novole was the place where I wanted to arrive. Turning downhill into a gentle path, I had the... More

When we first saw the house, we were literally thrown into the paradise..it seemed to be simply incredible, amazing.. Embraced by nature and a truly exceptional view, this is the place of harmony and true beauty, surrounded by greenery and silence. The house is very, very romantic, full of memories of the past (it was like sleeping in the Middle Ages),... More

Novole is close to heaven. It was a 'Chiesa' in 15th century, and a peasants place in the 18th. And now, it's an amazing place to feel the countryside, the quietness, the silence. All with incredible views, surrounded by forest, nature. Birds, sun, and lovely sweet cat Emilia, and Pepito and Viola, friendly dogs. You can walk around, you can... More

Ours was a week-long "family" holiday. Three older adults and two younger adults. We were in the "convent" section of this agri-turismo and so had plenty of space to spread ourselves out. Four bedrooms, a lounge with enormous fireplace (lovely to sit by on the cooler, rainy evenings), two bathrooms, kitchen with gas stove & dishwasher and a dining area.... More

We spent a wonderfull week in the very romantic old convent. an old stonebuilding that was really tastefully and lovely restored to be a most confortable place to stay. It was soooooo relaxing there in the midst of beatifull green nature, the olive trees. it is perfect for walks through the countryside that are also suitable for quite little children.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Novole is in the middle of the Tuscan countryside and dates back to 1500 and is near the old Etruscan town of Cortona. It is a former Convent that we have restored with three nice apartments (Convent-Chapel-Cottage), respecting the original style and atmosphere of the buildings. Novole is on the border between Toscana and Umbria, located about 1 and 1/2 hour from Florence, 1 hour from Siena, Perugia and Assisi. ... more   less
