With right room get probably best views of both sea & Mt Etna of any hotel in Taormina, also on-site parking. BUT for 4 star, rooms and bathrooms are unacceptably small, no mini-fridge and breakfast selection very basic. Lift far too small & looks like goods lift. Booked through Ryanair. more

Let me begin by stating that my spouse and I are reasonable, friendly and gregarious people. We get along with most everyone and are tolerable to unexpected situations that may occur. On that note, please allow me to elaborate on our decision to modify our stay at Hotel Mediterrannee; The location of this hotel is good, the rooms are clean... more

The decor in the Mediterranee is definitely dated, but if this isn't an issue for you then the hotel is fine. Everything is clean and works, and although the shower was a bit small it did it's job ok. The air-con is only switched on from June so can't comment on it's efficacy/noise, although we were there in late May... more

If you stay here you must book a room with the spectacular view of BOTH Mt. Etna and the sea. True the rooms are small and the bathroom even smaller than usual, but it is worth the trade off. Did I mention that the terrace was larger than the room and had table and chairs for enjoying the view....day and... more

We stayed at the hotel by accident - we just turned up on the off chance. We were'nt going to stay as the rooms were not that great but we were shown the view over Etna....so we did. The service was good as was the buffet breakfast. The rooms were dated and probably overpriced but the staff were friendly. It... more

Dressed up as a four star but more like a two star, this hotel offers, friendly service and convenient location, but cramped and dated rooms with few facilities. Our double room had a large terrace and the rooftop swimming pool was lovely with a great view, but the shower in our tiny bathroom was terrible and the room was too... more

Totally agree with the previous review, the Hotel Mediterranee is a little old fashioned, but once you get used to the decor all the little things about the hotel grow and grow on you. (And just to clarify, we stayed at the hotel in the town, not the Lido hotel on the beach.) The decor is old fashioned. The hotel... more

Like a previous reviewer stated, this is the sister hotel not the Lido on the seafront. The Mediterranee is in Toarmina town itself and was just what we expected. A little dated, slightly worn around the edges but comfortable regardless. The staff, like all the Sicilians we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was so quiet and peaceful... more
