Quite a traditional hotel, in a stunning and convenient location. The reception staff all very friendly and helpful. Beautiful pool on the edge of the cliff, again with fantastic views, albeit down about 80 steps, so not suitable for the infirm! Before we booked I had read it wasn't worth booking half-board because there are so many restaurants in the... More

Just back from our trip to Taormina earlier in the month. We stayed for four nights at this hotel for our honeymoon. Overall the hotel was excellent, has spectacular views of the nearby coast and Etna in the discount. Our room also had a balcony, there is a great choice of restaurants in the lively town just a few steps... More

We stayed for 5 nights in mid July 14. The hotel has very high standards in all areas. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally located, no more than 100 metres from the main pedestrian street that runs through Taormina. Lots of bars and restaurants very close by. The only downside is the lack of wifi in the... More

We booked this hotel on 17 January 2014 then made final payment 6th June. 7th June we were informed that the hotel had over booked. This was very disappointing because we had read other reviews and really wanted to spend our time in Sicily here. Eventually we agreed to spend 4 nights in another hotel and 5 nights at the... More

We stayed at the Excelsior Hotel during the last week of June this year. The location is ideal for seeing the sights and simply being able to wander down the High Street, which is lively and quaint. Narrow streets with buildings of pale golden stone lead to pretty piazzas. We arrived at the Hotel during the morning and were allocated... More

Great hotel with superb location. This means that it has easy access to all the attractions of this lively town. Choose a room with views as it is worth it. The service from the staff is exceptional- always happy to help. A terrific place to say.

This hotel is situated on the cliff top of Taormina. The views are fantastic but the rooms are rather tired. It is best to ask for a sea view room although this is a little more expensive. The bathrooms are in need of refurbishment being the old shower tray and curtain type. Don't book half board for two reasons. The... More

A beautiful hotel perfectly situated for exploring the intriguing, historic old town of Taormina. Our room was lovely - spacious, attractive with a balcony and stunning views away over to Mount Etna. The Dining Room was great and the food was excellent. The staff were friendly, helpful, enthusiastic and very good fun - a pleasure to be around and I look... More

We stayed at the Excelsior Palace Hotel for four nights as part of a Riviera Travel group in June 2014. The hotel is situated close to the shops, bars and restaurants. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food, although not brilliant, got better as the weekend went on. The walk to the pool is the best we have... More
