What can I say about Excelsior Palace Hotel Taormina apart from we have now stayed 3 times in 3 years. We absolutely love this hotel. It is old but very charming. The reception staff are brilliant and extremely helpful. We have such a laugh with them. Everyone who works at Excelsior Palace are so friendly. We prefer the back of... More

This is an old hotel, originally opened in 1904. The room we had was on the second floor overlooking the bay and Mount Etna. There was a small balcony with a couple of seats. The room was large and well maintained. The bathroom was fine, although a slightly odd choice of dark brown tiles it has to be said, but... More

This is a lovely old hotel with bags of olde world charm! The rooms are all different as I discovered not standard sizes at all! I did have a sea view and it was stunning, so I can recommend paying the extra. The bar serves wonderful 'amuse bouche ' with the evening drinks so worth staying here for one! Dinner... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in June 2015. The hotel itself is very good but the location is absolutely fabulous. There are spectacular sea views and views of Mount Etna and the fact that the start of the main street of Taormina, Corsa Umberto, is about 50 metres away is a major bonus. The town itself is beautiful with... More

I have recently returned from a two week holiday at the Excelsior Palace Hotel, Taormina. This is a period hotel, opened in 1904, and should be judged as such. I love the classic design and character and the location is spectacular. New for this year are a much-improved lunch service at the pool and a Sicilian breakfast table with a... More

This is a great hotel in Taormina perfectly positioned to explore the area. The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly especially in the restaurant. We were there for a week and wished it could have been longer. Catching the bus from the airport to the bus depo in Taormina is easy and then getting a taxie to the hotel... More

This hotel has a nice feel to it, friendly helpful staff add to that feeling. The situation is perfect for strolling into Taormina, with its own terrace and a pool that to say the least is on the edge of a cliff with superb views to the bay & Etna. The rooms are a little tired and in need of... More

This will be our 7th visit to Taormina and this Hotel. It is perfectly positioned for a great holiday. The hotel is full of old Italian charm, and the staff are just fantastic. My wife (Julie) and I are made to feel at home and relax as we walk through the entrance. Only one month to go and just can't... More

We arrived at this hotel very late on a Sunday evening and were welcomed by a very pleasant gentleman. Unfortunately we didn't get his name as he was one of the more friendly members of staff in the hotel. He was there mostly at night and during the day once or twice. Andreas helped us with our bags and again... More

Stayed here for a week in July 2014. Firstly Taormina is amazing, ok you have to get from Catania which must be one of the toughest places I've ever been to (tent cities in the city centre, graffiti everywhere etc...) first but it is well worth it. The hotel is pretty old but if you have an Etna/sea view room... More
