Monte Tauro is like no other hotel! It is built into the cliff face of Taormina, the views are exquisite. Pool is great. Breakfasts are amazing and include traditional breakfast fare and Sicilian delicacies like granita. The reception staff speak impeccable English and in fact there is a lovely young man on the reception desk who is native Australian! The... More

This hotel clings nicely to the steep hillside. You feel the pleasant atmosphere from the moment you have manouvered your car down the steep track to reception. Just leave the car with the keys in - they will take care of it - and of you. English is widely spoken and all staff at reception are utterly professional, knowledgeable and... More

Stayed 25 June to 29 June 2014. Very good position for the centre of town. As others have stated excellent staff and very friendly. There was a good selection at breakfast and all areas were kept topped up with fresh supplies, hot coffee and hot milk provide in vacuum jugs. Pool is good size and as mentioned by others is... More

6 years after staying here for our honeymoon we returned for 5 nights at the end of a hectic 3 weeks travelling around Italy. We arrived at 8.30am on the sleeper train from Naples but despite our early arrival we were checked in and even had breakfast in the restaurant. Not much has changed since we last came to the... My husband and I spent 7 days at the Monte Tauro. I can only reiterate other comments the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and speak perfect english. We had a problem with the light in our bathroom, which turned out to be our fault, and the maintenance man was at our room before my husband had returned from reporting... More

When choosing a hotel for a special vacation, I do not take the choice lightly. I research everything to ensure I pick the perfect place. Often, the hotels do not meet my expectations. In every way, the Monte Tauro, exceeded our expectations. It is low key luxury. Such a great value. Nice people, excellent service, GORGEOUS pool and setting, terrific... More

This is a modern hotel sympathetically designed to match Taormina's antiquity conveniently situated a few streets below the main street. We really enjoyed staying here, a little luxury after our trip around Sicily. We had a large bedroom with a large south facing bedroom. Breakfasts were huge American buffets with Sicilian specialities ( and a small selection of gluten free).... More

We stayed at this hotel to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday and we were not disappointed. We had the room of our choice (to the right of the elevator) with a great view of the bay and Mount Etna, (but the hotel didn't put the bottle of champagne in our room as promised to our travel agent)!! The room was... More

Just returned from my recent holiday to Sicily. This is the 2nd time me & my hubby have stayed at the Monte Tauro. The hotel is lovely and clean, the rooms are nice, the location is lovely the only negative re hotel is the steep hill, not a hotel I don't think for the elderly. The breakfast buffet is not... More
