EXCELLENT HOLIDAY! I went with my boyfriend and his Dad and Sister. We arrived at the airport and it was VERY windy and as we got to the hotel the sea was very rough! However, when we woke up the second day it was lovely weather and the wind had calmed down and the sea was lovely, gentle and clean!... More

We stayed in July 2011 for one week. The room was lovely with a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean. The staff were very helpful and spoke English well, service was good. The location, right on the beach was superb, and the terrace with restaurant yards away from the private beach and sea. A shame that the shared facilities, bar area etc... More

The hotel is indeed "quaint" and "charming" - rather old-fashioned, but excellent service, very clean and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Although its website does mention it's only 900m to the cable car to go up into the town of Taormina, it omits to tell you that the walk is along a very winding, badly lit road... More

Clean, comfortable, right on the beach! Somewhat faded classy hotel. Good breakfast, helpful service. Need to drive or take public transportation to town, lunch or dinner. Beautiful balconies and views. Free parking, towels, chair and umbrellas for the beach provided. Beach is much less rocky than others in the area. Charged for internet access. More

Really enjoyed the week we spent at the Mediterranee at Whitson. Room was comfortable and simple. Beach was very clean and the restaurant will serve simple and cheap fare if needed for small children. More

We were here 4 years ago, liked it and came back. Reasonable price, good room with water view. Breakfast included was good and many choices. Front desk personnel, especially ,Mona Lisa, were wonderful and helpful. The walk to the funicular was not bad with lots of sights on the way. A recent reviewer complained of furnishings and interior, but I... More

I might be too critical, but I don't know what the heck the previous praising comments referred to? This is a tired museum of how four stars could have looked back in 1960's and it's surely not worth your money. A few pluses: good view, own beach, convenient free parking, kind of OK breakfast. On the negative side: right next... More

Very good hotel for lazy beach holiday: own beach, all rooms overlook the sea. Very clean, room service twice a day, good terrace. Few drawbacks: our bathroom was small and water constantly flooded the flour. The hotel is lockated not far from the cable way, but you won't walk there twice a day so without a car you have to... The train tracks run right by the hotel, just a few feet away, and the trains are frequent. From some of the windows of the hotel you could almost give the passengers on the train high fives as they pass by. Check out the attached Google Earth image. The hotel's photos don't reveal this. The highway is not much farther... More

The hotel is fantastic. It stands right on the beach, the service is impeccable yet unobtrusive, breakfast is superb, and it's a walking distance to the cable car that takes you to downtown Taormina. The rooms were furnished in the 70s or so, but this just adds to the charm... They are spacious, with very tall ceilings and kept clean... More
