The hotel is indeed "quaint" and "charming" - rather old-fashioned, but excellent service, very clean and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Although its website does mention it's only 900m to the cable car to go up into the town of Taormina, it omits to tell you that the walk is along a very winding, badly lit road... More

Clean, comfortable, right on the beach! Somewhat faded classy hotel. Good breakfast, helpful service. Need to drive or take public transportation to town, lunch or dinner. Beautiful balconies and views. Free parking, towels, chair and umbrellas for the beach provided. Beach is much less rocky than others in the area. Charged for internet access. More

Really enjoyed the week we spent at the Mediterranee at Whitson. Room was comfortable and simple. Beach was very clean and the restaurant will serve simple and cheap fare if needed for small children. More

The train tracks run right by the hotel, just a few feet away, and the trains are frequent. The hotel is fantastic. It stands right on the beach, the service is impeccable yet unobtrusive, breakfast is superb, and it's a walking distance to the cable car that takes you to downtown Taormina.
