We visited Taormina with a group and this was our hotel. It is not located in the heart of the city's attractions, but it has other merits. The hotel provides frequent and comfortable, complimentary shuttle service to those attractions. The room furnishings are rather basic, but many rooms provide a pleasant balcony facing the sea. The beautiful grounds are maintained... More

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of a Sicily tour. Perfectly adequate hotel. Splendid dining room for evening meals. Hotel is close to beach with a railway line running through the grounds. This causes no problems at all. Breakfast is fine. Listen to the variety of languages whilst having breakfast. We had French, Dutch, Brazilian, so we were... More

Stayed here for three nights at the end of a Titan Sicily tour. The hotel is well situated for Taormina and leads straight onto a pebbled beach.(a railway runs between the hotel and beach but no significant noise problem arose from this and an underpass allows access) The food at breakfast was fine with good coffee, fresh baked pastries and... When my husband and I booked the hotel we were aware of the nearby train track. We were not disturbed by the evening/ night trains which did not appear to run too regularity. We closed the shutters which helped. Our room was on the 2nd floor - the 300's. It was beach facing . It was a lovely , spacious... More

We stayed here in May for the final three nights of a Sicily tour. How disappointing to finish up in a hotel like this. It is absolutely not a four-star hotel. Everything about the hotel is dated and old. The room allocated to us was tiny with bright green decoration - so awful we could not stay in it and... More

Despite the fantastic location and the gentle staff, there is a colossal gap between what you call a 4 stars in Europe and the Caparena Hotel. Old furniture. Old TV (...still cathodic tube 21" TV with 2 remote controls to have TNT...). No wi-fi (just in the all... but then you have to collect a password and make sure not... More

I have been travelling and staying in Hotels of this so called calibre for 58 years and this is undoubtedly the worst. Do not waste your money!!! The first 4 days of our holiday ( myself and 25 yo daughter) were spent at the Capotaormina which was 4 star as is the Caparena. However they are poles apart. The Caparena... More

This hotel is a wonderful location right on the beach. Your first impression is WOW!!!. Then, it hits you. There is NO WIFI in the rooms, and only exists in the lobby. Thing is, the hotel staff gives you a complicated user name and password which only works for 12 hours. They will give you one at the desk and... More

This is a very nice hotel a few miles from Taormina"s city center. Beautiful grounds, pool area and beach. All staff was very nice and helpful. The food was average but well presented. I only have two complaints from my 3 night stay there in June 2014. A very noisy train runs right through the property between the hotel and... More

This hotel has a superb location just outside Taormina right on the beach. The staff were brilliant, the rooms clean and spacious, the three dining areas all with super views out to seat, BUT, for a hotel of this standard I would have expected more than frozen beans (only just warmed up) or tinned carrots as the vegetable accompaniment to...
