We stayed here earlier this month having booked a week's half board via a well known tour operator. I had read the mixed reviews before booking, so took a chance on whether or not it would live up to the more positive ones. The view from the pool at the hotel is spectacular and the proximity to Taormina and it's... More

Absolutely loved this hotel. The views from the hotel overlook the Taormina coastline and Mount Etna can be seen in the distance. Two nights I drank wine on the balcony and watched lava trickle from the volcano. Awesome experience! The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. 5-10 minute walk to Corso Umberto. Would highly recommend this hotel!

No complaints at all - clean, well serviced, excellent service. We enjoyed a very relaxed holiday at Diodoro, spent hours lazing by the pool in the sunshine with unbeatable poolside views. The pool was of generous proportions, and we were able to swim rather than simply take a "dip". Excellent suggestions for dinners at eateries in the town. Well done.

Three stars are "average", which this hotel isn't, but four starts are "very good", which this hotel also isn't. Three and one-half stars would better represent my impressions. I stayed here for two nights as co-director of an educational tour group (14 of us in all). The hotel's location is very good--down the hill from the noisiest, most crowded part... More

Hotel was recommended by travel agent. We were a bit worried when we read some of the reviews on TA. We had great week in room 422 which had a balcony and a view of sea and Etna.Room was refurbished and very clean and in good condition. Perhaps air conditioning could have been more efficient. We had good free WiFi.... More

We ended up staying at this hotel by default. We booked our holiday In January 2014. The hotel we chose was the Excelsior but the day after we paid we were told the Excelsior had been over booked and that we had to move. After much debate we decided to have 4 nights at the Villa Diodoro and then have... More

I stayed at this hotel with my mother for a week in June and after a slightly rocky start we had an amazing holiday. The slight rocky start included a call to the housekeeping service who immediately came up to the room with a manager to rectify the situation. The hotel staff were all extremely helpful, polite and friendly... the... More

This is a pleasant hotel with great views. The staff in the restaurant are lovely and the food is good. However, there are issues the most worrying being algae growing along the top of the pool by the handrail. This was reported to reception by the Thompson rep but nothing was done about it. The hotel is in need of... More

I spent here 4 days and everything at the hotel was perfect. I could easy walk to the center, I could do gymnastic at their gymnasium every morning, I could stay near by the pool drinking a glass of their local wine Etna Bianco, I couldn't ask more. I think that people can't read comments of people that payd deluxe... More

I regret to say, that from my experience with this hotel is, that it may look nice, but administrative staff are rude. They do not follow up; you, the client, chases them as if you are doing them a favour. Any other 5 star hotel in Taormina offers nice views but better service most probably. While you pay pretty much... More
