Our group recently returned from a trip to Sicily and a stay at the Hotel Villa Diodoro. The hotel is located up the hill in the town of Taormina immediately adjacent to the public gardens. This is an older hotel with the typical small elevators and grand entrances. There is no wifi in the rooms but it is available in... More

Came here the first time and had a reasonably nice room. It was enough to say that we would come back again. the second time my wife and I came back, we brought other family members and was disgusted. We were placed in some lower level floor. Door frames broken, stains on chairs and furniture. Broken tiles in bathroom. A... More

This is a gorgeous old grand dame of a hotel. The rooms are spacious, the view from our balcony, of the coast, the sea, and Etna was stupendous. The grounds and lobby are lovely, the pool also quite fabulous. Sadly, the front desk help was sorely lacking. If we asked a question or made a request, the attitude was often... More

Let me begin by saying that I have traveled extensively through Italy and understand the differences between European hotel vs US-style ones. Having said that, what I have come to expect from a four star hotel is way far from what I experienced during my stay at the Villa Diodoro as part of a large group: filth, cracked and unplastered... Very beautiful, wonderful view from room and terraces . Pool lovely, amazing view of Etna ,a shame they close it at 6 pm ..sharp!!! It would be lovely to drink at the pool bar early evening. The food was very disappointing ,we had half board but we just didn't bother and went into Taormina ,so many good restaurants.

The Villa Diodoro is located in the lower section of Taormina; the streets are narrow and mostly one way, so go there by other means of transportation than a private car! There are basically two types of room, regular and deluxe, and the former may have sea or garden views. We had a deluxe corner room which was larger and... More

We spent the last two nights (and almost two full days) of our small tour at this hotel, which we loved. Our room (number 324) was very comfortable with a large balcony on which you could sit and admire the view of the bay and also Mt Etna! (The bathroom had a bath, which we prefer, especially for relaxing after... More

The Villa Deodoro is a wonderful hotel. It is a short climb from there to the Corso, the main shopping street in town. It had a fabulous pool clinging to the side of the very steep Monte Tauro. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The view from one of several terraces is worth it! The... More

This hotel was the last one on our tour of Sicily with Titan Tours. I requested a high floor room with a sea view and I was not disappointed. The room was adequate and the bathroom was spacious. The balcony overlooked a beautiful tranquil garden. However the breakfast and evening meal were both disappointing. The hotel staff were probably doing... More

We stayed at the hotel as part of a Titan package 20-26 April 2015 so can't comment on the value for money of the hotel charges nor the food. Our baggage was promptly delivered to our room and check in was quick. We were lucky to have a room with a good view of Mt Etna and the balcony was... More
