We spent a week here at this hotel. Very nice accommodations, very modern decor, which I appreciate. Room was comfortable and great AC! very important to have AC in Taormina in July, and did not disappoint. Great view from room too, over pool and out to ocean. Service was inconsistent, and don't want to downgrade them for it because amenities... More

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights of our honeymoon and enjoyed the views of the mediterranean, location and convenience to the center of everything. The infinity pool at the hotel is beautiful and we spent one nice lazy afternoon soaking up the sun while being served drinks by the bartender. The breakfast was just ok as we... More

Location The hotel is located a couple of streets away from the main shopping and restaurant road. It is set above the town meaning great views over the town and towards the sea. It is also very close to the path up to the castle and church at the top of the hill over looking the town. There is a... More

Had a lovely couple of days here. The view was beautiful. Very good location. However the staff could have been better. We paid for off road parking but they left it out all day on the road. They were not rude just not that polite.

I like this place. I've stayed in five star hotels all over Europe and the States and they do vary, The Ritz London this isn't but to be honest I thought it was excellent. The staff are almost universally excellent - especially Svetlana on reception - they make you feel most at home and relaxed, including the odd impromptu Italian... More

We stayed for 2 nights. Had a room with a romantic view over the town's skyline through the balcony, especially so during sunset. Breakfast was great and you can have it by the poolside. The pool says it all about the hotel; juxtaposing modernity against the backdrop of the ancient town of Taormina.

This was our third visit to the hotel which must say something about the place. Very good central location so you can walk everywhere. Sea view rooms are very good with viewz to die for. Bathrooms are well equiped and the rain shower is walk in. Air conditioning is good and the balcony is small but very welcome. Breakfast is... More

Stayed at the Imperiale for a week with family and friends for our wedding in Taormina. The hotel is modern and has a cool feel about it. Svetlana greeted us and was very helpful throughout our stay. Our room was great , a perfect size with a huge bed and the best sheets ever. A super bathroom with twin basins... More

I have not a bad word to say about this hotel. We were upgraded to a sea view room without even asking when we checked in. The staff are absolutely lovely and make you feel so welcome. The rooms are well sized and very clean. The pool area is lovely and the food at the pool and level 7 restaurant... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Myths of classic Greece, the Sicilian sea, Saracen and Norman echoes reflecting on the snowy slopes of Mount Etna. Day after day, the silence, colours, light and the aromas of Taormina relate infinite pages of stories, legends and traditions. An exploration of trees and sunsets, starry nights, timeless moments in the exclusive setting of the Hotel Imperiale. Stroll up to Hotel Imperiale through the streets of the historic centre of Taormina; through the scent of wisteria and the colour of bougainvillea. The position of the building, standing above the roofs of the town, provides an exceptional panorama, with the Greek Theatre in the foreground and the sea, from Capo S. Alessio to the Bay of Naxos in the near distance. A short walk away you will find Corso Umberto, Taormina’s exclusive promenade, which has seen a host of celebrities make this small part of Paradise famous throughout the world: Maupassant, Goethe, Oscar Wilde, Vittorio De Sica, Sophia Loren, Gregory Peck, Greta Garbo, Cary Grant, Rita Hayworth and Liz Taylor. The magic of Taormina has beguiled many film directors over the years into setting their films here. Still today the world of cinema keeps its appointment every year for the Taormina Film Festival. Located in the heart of Taormina's historic centre, close to Corso Umberto I and the Palacongressi (home of the International film Festival), the historic Hotel Imperiale was built at the beginning of the 20th century and reopened in 2009 after restructuring works. The design and the restructuring has been carried out in full observance of the styles and local materials, such as the widely used volcanic stone, and has been adapted to modern requirements, in line with the philosophy of all hotels of the Exclusive Hotel Collection. The 63 rooms and suites enjoy Brazilian rosewood furniture, in colours reminiscent of the warmth of Sicily, its mosaics, ceramics and volcanic stone. The exclusive Pool and Terrace Suites boast a solarium or private terrace with a private outdoor spa bath and steam room. A panoramic outdoor pool and a Roof Garden treat guests to stunning views. This luxury 5 star hotel offers an exclusive 260 m² SPA with 5 CARITA and DECLEOR treatment rooms, the Anfiteatro restaurant with VIP room, serving traditional Sicilian dishes, the Pool Bar and a 200 seat conference hall making it an ideal place for important events and special occasions. ... more   less
