I chose this hotel for its location near the swimming place in Syracuse. I walked in with no reservation and negotiated a fair price, so on that front I have no complaints. But the hotel itself badly needs maintenance. Broken shower cubicle, rusty dirty balcony, missing light bulbs (the whole hotel needs more light), old mattress, scuff marks on the... More

We spent 4 nights here which were prepaid otherwise we would have left after 1. On arrival the receptionist tried to persuade us to share a room despite having booked and paid for two and only complied when we insisted. My room had not been properly cleaned - the floor was dusty and waste bin not emptied. The bathroom had... More

This hotel should not have a 3 star rating. The rooms were barely adequate and only cleaned once in 4 days; the bathroom had no soap and a very dirty and broken shower. There was no TV and the mini fridge was broken. The worst aspect of this dilapidated place was the service. The owner/manager seemed half asleep and the... More

The staff-receptionist, cleaner very helpful. Otherwise- mould and lime scale everywhere in the bathroom, old walls, dirty floor, dust everywhere and ants on the floor???. The see view is distracted by the parking just bellow the balconies, noisy. This is a 3 stars hotel?? It deserves every negative point. Siracuse is just beautiful , but next time try 4 or... More

First of all, finding a parking space for non-residents of Syracuse is next to impossible. And the staff is of absolutely no help ... Secondly, the hotel is shabby looking and poorely ran - 4 differents receptionists of whom one forgot to return my ID at the time of check-out and quite a lot of persuasion and help of staff... More

If all you want is a good mattress, hot water and clean towels then this is the place for you. But don't expect anything else although we did have a sea view. Dirty bathroom, rebuild the shower cubicle to use it, clammy bed linen and don't expect breakfast on site - it is 5 minutes walk away. And then it... More

Have to say the cheek of these people to charge EUR95 a night..... what a dreadful hotel. I think my photos will say a lot. The receptionist was lovely, I actually felt sorry for both her and the cleaner having to work in this place. We stayed just after Easter (2014) and but for the fact that Siracusa was beautiful... We came to Syracusa by chance and found hotel Aurora and a place to park very nearby and that's about the only good thing. O second comes the view which is great. I have never seen an place dirtier than this hotel. I would be ashamed of myself if I would run the place. True - once it must have... More

An easy 30 min stroll from the rail station through Ortygia (Syracusa's old town) means overpriced taxi unnecessary and you arrive feeling something of the old Greek character of the area before the quirky reception on the 1st floor. Booking ahead with hotels.com I had a top floor room with high ceilings in the classic Italian style and wonderful tall... More

We stayed in this hotel about a month ago and found it a cool experience. Siracusa (ancient Syracuse) is full of history - it was one of the key Mediterranian powerhouses when the Greeks and Romans were running heir empires. You can feel that history in strolls around the old town centre of Ortigia, where the huge sea walls all... More
