A return visit to L'Approdo delle Sirene and just as delightful. Lavish breakfast with homemade cakes, cheese, bread, foccaccia, etc. taken indoors or on the balcony overlooking the harbour if not too windy. We had the attic room with skylight. Furnished in minimalist, all-white style, with air-conditioning, it worked well for us, as was quiet and away from the street... More

I wasn't very impressed with the exterior, but once you enter the hotel you'll find that it's quite lovely and modern. The bathroom was on the smaller side, and the A/C was pretty weak, but other than that I really liked the room. Breakfast is served on a terrace and you can sit inside or outside. Everything in Ortygia is... More

Very helpful and welcoming staff. Great hotel location near the historic center and closed to the railway station. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast, the best one we had in Sicilia, is bieng served on the rooftop with a beatiful view.

We only stayed one night but found the owners very friendly and accommodating (they helped arrange a car to pick us up from the ferry port many miles away and stayed late to welcome us when we finally arrived at the hotel). The room was comfortable and the breakfast comes with an amazing view over the harbour.

We loved everything about this great little hotel. Very helpful and welcoming staff. Perfect location near the harbour. Clean and pleasant rooms and a wonderful breakfast served in the rooftop room. We would return in a heartbeat!

A great little B/B in Ortigia. The staff speak fluent English, and they are very helpful with directions to various attractions and with restaurant recommendations. Two places were recommended to us for dinner, and both places were fabulous. The breakfast buffet in the morning is quite nice, with a great view of the harbor. Three glitches with our stay: 1)... L'Approdo delle Sirene ("The Siren's Landing", alluding to Ulysses travels in the Odyssey) is a small, well-run, well-located B&B on the waterfront in Siracusa's historical Ortigia island. The family-run place is great for solo and coupled-up travelers seeking a quality alternative to large, impersonal hotels. The proprietors, an entrepreneurial family with other businesses on the island, are proficient in English... More

We drove into Syracuse from Cefalu. It was an easy drove compared to finding other places in Italy. We parked just outside the B & B. An elevator takes you up to the reception desk. Our room over-looked the harbor. We loved the room, the people, the town and the food. The hotel gave us great recommendations for restaurants and... More

This Inn is within an easy walk to the town center. The rooms are large. Nice bright colors. The owner, Fiora, is very friendly and accommodating. This is a B&B but you are given freedom and space. The guest rooms are on opposite sides (door and hallway) of owner quarters.

It's not possible to praise this place highly enough! We were made to feel incredibly welcome by the charming and friendly owner, who immediately took us up to the terrace for a free coffee and a lovely rest, because we had arrived so early in the morning (due to the Easter bus service-don't even ask!)- we were there hours before...
