We booked this hotel at the last minute and were very pleased with the apartment. It was large and spacious and led to a wonderfully kept courtyard. Breakfast was plentiful with some good healthy choices. The location is great, within walking distance to all the key sights in Ortigia. If you come by car, be prepared to drop off any luggage... We stayed at Hotel Alla Giudecca for 5 nights in July this year and we were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. We had a two bedroom apartment on 2 floors and a lovely living area, and we were 3 minutes from the sea where my children swam each day. We visited the markets each morning for food supplies... More

I did not stay at this hotel, although I tried to - there was a conference on which seemed to take up the whole place. The reason for this review is to express my surprise and frustration at the manner in which the Mikvah tours are conducted. I specifically sought out the hotel for that purpose one fine spring morning... More

I suggest you be careful at this hotel - i went in person to reserve a room for visiting friends (i had to go back about 3 times, since no one was ever at the desk), offered to pay in full in advance with a credit card, and did so, receiving a receipt for the payment. No one told me... More

We loved our apartment at alla Giudecca. The building is full of character and beautifully restored, and the apartment large, stylish and comfortable. We didn't get the sea view but we still enjoyed our shady balcony (apt.1), large living room, 2 beds and bathroom. The kitchenette is small, but ok to make a good pasta meal! Breakfast was good, nothing... More

Here we don't find the usual hotel bedroom. What we had here was a two floor apartment with a terrace, from which we could see a bit of the blue sea. The people there are very nice! The hotel is in the old Hebrew baths, in Ortigia. As soon as we leave it, we can feel surrounded by ancient legends:... More

We stayed for two nights and we saw just one person from the staff. She was actual the babysitter of the owner's kids. She said that she was doing a favor on letting us in and giving out the keys and that was it. We never saw anyone ales after. We didn't even did the check in. We stayed in... More

I was prepared for a rather austere, dormitory-like stay, for a small workshop that was held there in June. The experience turned out to be very pleasant indeed. First, the historic structure itself, and its location adds a special authenticity to the place. The common areas are well maintained and nicely appointed. The (small) staff works really hard at making... More

I spent 11 days traveling in Sicily in late November and early December and Alla Giudecca was the nicest place that I stayed. Perhaps it was the low season, but the reception closes at noon and I arrived around 3 pm. Someone did come to let me in and I completed the check-in formalities the next morning. Even though I... When we arrived, the lady at the front desk greeted with a smile. A "chatter box?" - I worried. But she happened to be one of the most helpful staff, always ready with advice and assistance. She even guided to the deep basement where the hotel happen to have one of the oldest Jewish baths. A hotel of true historic... More
