Clean hotel in a good location with spacious rooms. Pros: - rooms were big - general cleanliness was good (although there were some hairs in the hairdryer draw) - view from the restaurant is very nice - breakfast was ok - service is friendly and good - location is good with parking available (10 EUR per day) which is hard... We really loved this hotel. Perfect position over looking the harbour in a nice area close to restaurants, bars, shops, etc. The whole island is spectacular and staying in a place like this just added to the memories. Breakfast is superb as is the coffee and you start the day overlooking the bay and listening to the town start up.

A very dated hotel. Smaller than compact rooms, noisy location, poor inattentive staff, overpriced plain food and no lunch menu. Room service charge is the most expensive I have come across (having stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world) and the order was delivered late and incomplete. Unusually, you can make suggestions as to what you might like... More

This is a really great Hotel across the bridge in the old part of the city. Hotel facilities and decor is first rate. Comfortable rooms right next to a small marina and within a very short walking distance of all the attractions in Ortigia section of Siracusa in Sicily. You can't go wrong choosing this hotel.

great plus of the hotel is its position: easily accessible by car down to the very heart of Siracusa (Ortigia) with reserved parking place Rooms have been easily renovated levering the high ceilings to develop two levels settings Impressive the restaurant due to the view on the sea and the super abundant and tasty breakfast There is also a SPA... I recommend the restaurant and the head server not only has a sense of humour but is brilliant at his job(helpful and thoughtful, The view from the restaurant is really cool as you can see the detail carving on the buildings near the hotel. This is not a stuck up hotel and one that I wish I had stayed at... More

We recently stayed at the Grand Hotel. It was a lovely hotel, courteous staff, beautiful lobby/sitting area with computer access, and an amazing breakfast/dining area located on the top floor with outside tables and a bonus was the beautiful view. It was conveniently located easy to walk into the center of town which had a daily farmer's market as well... More

Despite its name, this hotel is not at all grand, but instead a pleasant, slightly old-fashioned hotel. Set on one of the first streets you come to as you cross the bridge onto Ortigia, it is a short walk across a square to pass through a stone arched gate in the old city walls into the wonderful old quarter of... A grand old lady with everything one expects from a turn of the century grand hotel. Magnificent high ceilings, spacious rooms, lovely bar at the entrance and courteous service. A very comfortable bed in a charming old fashioned room. Although the room is period it is in no way tired or tatty, just in keeping with the feel of the... More

We took 3 rooms in the Grand Hotel, the rooms were fine. During windy days/night, you could hear the howling inbetween the windows. I have found strange hairs on my pillow and sheets. The walls seem to be paper thin since I heard my neighbours phone ring and heard rummaging around above me when breakfast was being prepared. Since we... More
