great plus of the hotel is its position: easily accessible by car down to the very heart of Siracusa (Ortigia) with reserved parking place Rooms have been easily renovated levering the high ceilings to develop two levels settings Impressive the restaurant due to the view on the sea and the super abundant and tasty breakfast There is also a SPA... I recommend the restaurant and the head server not only has a sense of humour but is brilliant at his job(helpful and thoughtful, The view from the restaurant is really cool as you can see the detail carving on the buildings near the hotel. This is not a stuck up hotel and one that I wish I had stayed at... More

We recently stayed at the Grand Hotel. It was a lovely hotel, courteous staff, beautiful lobby/sitting area with computer access, and an amazing breakfast/dining area located on the top floor with outside tables and a bonus was the beautiful view. It was conveniently located easy to walk into the center of town which had a daily farmer's market as well... More

Despite its name, this hotel is not at all grand, but instead a pleasant, slightly old-fashioned hotel. Set on one of the first streets you come to as you cross the bridge onto Ortigia, it is a short walk across a square to pass through a stone arched gate in the old city walls into the wonderful old quarter of... A grand old lady with everything one expects from a turn of the century grand hotel. Magnificent high ceilings, spacious rooms, lovely bar at the entrance and courteous service. A very comfortable bed in a charming old fashioned room. Although the room is period it is in no way tired or tatty, just in keeping with the feel of the... More

We took 3 rooms in the Grand Hotel, the rooms were fine. During windy days/night, you could hear the howling inbetween the windows. I have found strange hairs on my pillow and sheets. The walls seem to be paper thin since I heard my neighbours phone ring and heard rummaging around above me when breakfast was being prepared. Since we... More

Choose this hotel based on location and it was perfect for our two night stay to explore Ortigia. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. There was a handy hotel opposite that although charged for we were just grateful not to have to drive any further on this tiny island. The breakfast was great - discovered... More

Grand Hotel Ortigia is not a large, grand hotel in the style of say the London Savoy, but it is a very pleasant hotel indeed! It is relatively small, but has plenty of facilities to justify its 5 stars. Every member of staff that we encountered was friendly and helpful - possibly the most helpful staff we have come across... More

This is a beautiful property, in the perfect location BUT... we stayed in mid November and the weather in Sicily was still warm. The hotel shut the a/c for the season and you were forced to withstand the warm evenings, with only a fan. On our first night, we decided to open the windows, as the warm room kept us... More

This hotel is typically int he Italian style form the old world, but it is tastefully done with a modern and comfortable feel. We were met immediately by the concierge who whisked our bags away, which is a great start. Everything including service and hospitality was top notch. The breakfast terrace has a fantastic view and also for a drink... More
