This hotel is most charming with interesting use of a historic building without compromising modern facilities. The staff were outstandingly helpful and offered guidance on a great variety subjects. The choice at breakfast was extensive with freshly cooked items and freshly squeezed fruit juices at no extra cost. The situation is convenient for visiting the many sights in Siracusa. Despite... The best hotel where we have ever stayed. Great service and wonderful location. It is a beautiful place where you can have a walk every day. We will come back here for sure. We are recommending it to everyone.

We have never been to Ortigia to date but this hotel looked so charming that we made a reservation online. It turned out that this was the last room they had available, a junior suite. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the most friendly and helpful staff member ( Marcello ) who not only helped us with... More

This, my second stay at the Algila, was even better than my first. I splurged on the rooftop spa room, and it was worth every euro. The room itself is charming and comfortable, and the sunny rooftop deck and terrace spacious, peaceful, and private. An incredibly welcome respite from the hubbub of bustling Ortigia. I usually don't take hotel breakfasts,... More

I booked this hotel based on the glowing reviews of other Tripadvisors. It is a welcoming boutique hotel set in a beautifully renovated old palazzo with a very high standard of service. Breakfast is excellent, including the items prepared to order at no extra charge. The rooms are nicely decorated. The air conditioning works effectively. Car parking is available in... More

Gosh there are a lot if hoteliers who could visit this absolutely charming hotel and find out what a hotel is supposed to be. Not only are the hosts and staff all charming but very nice people who genuinely want you to have a good stay. I love the renovation, very classy and with a nice contemporary vibe. The basket... I loved this place! Fantastic. The staff were so friendly. The rooms and bathrooms were exquisitely well decorated (not very big but you have to bear in mind that you are in the centre of the historic centre). The even had Aqua di Parma incense sticks (smelt amazing)! It's these kind of small details that make my day. The breakfast... More

I was going to write quite a lot but quite simply agree with all the other reviews. Beautiful building and great location, superb staff, breakfast fantastic, rooms exceptionally well maintained and comfortable (Bulgari toiletries, robes etc). Never had such helpful staff - all as mentioned before, but also including Kindles for guests' use!, and superb restautanrt recommendations. We did not... More

This hotel is what every boutique hotel should try to be. First, I would like to say that the front desk staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful. Before we arrived, I had sent a few emails to the hotel regarding airport transfer and room arrangements. Each time, my emails were responded to quickly (usually within 15 minutes!) and everything I... More

From the moment you step in the door, you are made to feel so welcome and offered some great little extras. Room was delightful with terrace. Bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic - selection available and quality was superb. Location wad terrific too. I would definitely stay here again if we come back to Syracuse.
