We enojed our stay in Palermo particularly the visit to Mercato del Capo, the beach at Mondello and Capo Gallo. All three come highly recommended! The hotel was decent but definitely not a four star standard and requires a decent refurbishment and not just a fresh coat of paint. A new lift has been installed so the vertical transportation should... more

The company i work for, usually reserves (unfortunately) this hotel for my accomodation when i go to Palermo. It is now 12 years that i know this hotel and very few things have been changed during this time! The hotel looked old and old fashioned 12 years ago already and so it looks today. Some rooms have been recently repainted... more

I was at the Astoria Palace for 2 weeks during the month of August. The negative facts: The swimming pool is closed and the exercise room, however when they finish the work it will be a very nice attraction to the hotel, both are in the 14th floor roof. The hotel is not new and shows signs of wear and... more

We were concerned about some of the reviews we read before we left for our trip, especiall the B&B in Baghdad comment. The hotel has large, clean rooms and a very nice lobby and bar area. However, it is located rather far from the center of attractions. We were fortunate that we were taken by bus from the hotel and... more

The Astoria Palace hotel in Palermo is located about two kilometers from the best shopping area in Palermo and adjacent to a large fruit and vegatable market. Rooms facing the market lose their quiet about 4 A.M. Rooms facing the main street are quiet by night and noisy by day. My room was larger than the European average, clean and... more

I stayed here from the 14th to the 19th of Sept. I was following what Frommers was saying in their guide. This is NOT a four star hotel. When we arrived they gave us two twin beds when we were supposed to have a king size bed for my wife 4 year old and I. The only thing they could... more

Four star hotel !!!!!!!!! do me a favour. I've just returned from 19 nights at the Astoria Palace Hotel and I would've rather stayed at a B&B in Baghdad. That sums up the place. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. more

We stayed at the hotel March 11, 2006 Hotel: Front desk: friendly, great lobby bar, the rooms were "fine", my room was large, with a large bed. The bathroom was "fine". My room and bathroom were both clean. We left the hotel so early-breakfast consisted cold coffee made the night before and some bread. Location: Can't review, we were having... more
