Location is in the rougher part of town, Ballaro. That is a good thing. It is lively, interesting, colorful, and central to many places you'll want to walk to. Some other reviewers have commented on how the area looks rundown. That is true. However, the B&B is an excellent restoration and during my time in that area (which ran to... More

My husband and I stayed here on the first night of our anniversary trip. We were able to park right outside the B&B which was great and from the chaos outside we were transported to a quiet oasis. The staff were very helpful and made us feel at home, they even gave us a map with all the attractions and... More

An awesome place, nicely decorated, clean and very central. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A great stay for a very reasonable price. We loved the room atmosphere and the nice terrasse. The breakfast was also very nice.

I'll start with the 3 minor drawbacks: • parking a rental vehicle is a bit of nightmare, as on-street parking is limited, and roads are very narrow. • if your room is on-street, night-time ambient noise prevents you from opening the window (though there is air conditioning). • the free WiFi only reaches the common areas near the front desk... Il Giardino was probably the best B&B of our entire month in Sicily. Its in the oldest part of Palermo, admittedly a "gritty" part of the city, but loaded with atmosphere. Passing through the doorway of Il Giardino the bustle, noise (and yes, the rubble) of the city are left behind. The building was an old stable, now lovingly, and... More

An oasis of calm and comfort in the middle of bustling Palermo. Il Giardino provides an immaculately restored environment that is both elegant and comfortable. The bedrooms are large with all the features that you need. The "public" areas are filled with artistic decorations (ceramics when we were there). The breakfast room is light and overlooks the garden (unusual for... More

Il Giardino di Ballaro was a beautiful oasis of calm in the heart of Palemo. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly and our rooms were excellent - each with their own balcony and unique furnishings! The continental breakfast was delicious and we were able to enjoy this in the peace of the garden. Great location, just a short walk... More

Il Giardino de Ballaro is a lovely B and B with impeccable service. Upon arrival we were greeted by Angela who welcomed us with cake, beverages and provided a lay of the land. Our room overlooked the garden and had 2 two bedrooms and two baths. The lobby is interesting, showing its history with original stonework and beams. Also, there... More

My stay of 3 nights in Il Giardino di Ballaro was perfect from beginning to end. I love the location in the heart of old Palermo - perhaps too noisy and chaotic for some, but it had a very vibrant and lively feeling. The building has been very elegantly restored and the feeling inside is warm and intimate. All the staff... More

We chose Il Giardino di Ballaro as the first stop of our visit to Sicily and it was by far the best place we stayed. Arriving by taxi where we travelled down narrow streets, this lovely B&B is barely noticeable however once you are buzzed in you are greeted by Ludovica and Angela who are both warm and inviting and...
