Fresh renovated old house with an extraordinary good eye on interior, architecture and atmosphere. We had the beautiful room "La Suora" - high ceelings, very modern bathroom and a huge bed :-) Also quiet and all clean. We enjoyed breakfast buffet in the garden. A nice selection of italian hams, cheese, caprese, fruits and homemade (excellent!) cakes. The staff is... More

Had a great few days at the B&B. We stayed in the attic room, great space, comfortable bed, good bathroom and the ac which was a god send in the 30+ degree heat. There was a good choice for breakfast, sweet and savoury. The garden was lovely and a great place to eat breakfast or chill out after a long... More

I think Boutique hotel is more of an appropriate description than B&B. Such a gem hidden behind more or less nondescript doors in the hustle and bustle of old town. We were welcomed and treated ever so kindly by the various ladies on duty, as if you were coming home every time. Genuine hospitality. The 'lobby' is beautifully decorated and... More

This B&B, more like a boutique hotel, is an oasis in the middle of caotic Palermo. It is centrally located to most of the monuments, walking 5 minutes to the Cathedral, the Cappella Palantina, 2 minutes to the mercato Ballaro', and 10 minutes Teatro Massimo. Our room was spacious with a small refrigerator. The services were superb, Valentina, Ludovica and... More

This was our first trip to Sicily. We spent the first three nights at this gorgeous boutique hotel. We were glad we hadn't hired a car but it was quite a trauma walking from the bus station with wheeled luggage, and we weren't quite sure of what we were walking into as we turned down Porta di Castro! We were... More

The team should be really proud of the business they have built here. The building has been lovingly restored with individual touches to each room and there is great attention to detail. We were greeted with coffee in the comfortable lounge area while we checked in. Our large party of 7, including 3 children, had two rooms; a triple and... More

When I arrived in the evening, I felt right at home. I didn't expect the warm hospitality. All was perfect. The first two nights, I had a room facing the alley. It was a bit noisy, but I rejoiced in being part of the Ballaro neighborhood hearing the Vespas and the cars drive by and the nearby families in their... More

It was fabulous from beginning to end. The living/lobby area is inviting, the breakfast garden was a little oasis, the room was great, and the staff amazing -- they were incredibly helpful and no request was too much. I would definitely recommend this small, quiet hotel. Palermo is busy and gritty so it is very nice to have a place... More

Palermo isn't the most relaxing of cities - so it is good to have a quiet, well-run, clean and friendly place to stay while visiting this fascinating but chaotic city. Il Giardino di Ballaro is all of the above, very centrally located but, yes, in a rather run-down part of town. We did not experience any security issues, however. The... More
