Despite not liking Palermo as a city at all, our one night's stay at the Holiday Inn was pretty pleasant - the room was clean, the staff was courteous. We stayed at this hotel just to be close to the airport, get a feel for the streets, check maps etc before venturing out into the surrounding areas. I've stayed in this hotel for almost a week, enough to have a clear idea of it and decide not to be back. My travel agent made a reservation for me at this hotel. For personal reasons I will not be able to use the booking. The hotel will not cancel my reservation even though it is for the middle on next month! When I found this hotel on the internet there was no mention of not being able to canel. more
Don't stay there! This hotel is not central to anything. We had to walk 1/2 mile to get to the closet train station, to catch a train to central station in Palermo. Restaurant was overpriced.
