We just returned yesterday from two days in Via Butera (2 adults, 2 children). When our son saw the apartment, he said this was "the best hotel in Sicily". We had only been to 4 other places (all of them very nice), but his comment captured the sense of wonder in seeing the light, big, colourfully tiled apartment we were... More

We were excited to book an apartment in the home of a "real Duke and Duchess" and in the former home of Tomasi Di Lampedusa... and it did not disappoint! The location is fantastic, within easy walk of a number of great trattorias and restaurants as well as patisseries and cultural sights. We stayed in apt 17 (2 adults and... More

We stayed here 8 nights in March/April. All the rave reviews you've read about Butera 28 are true! Apartment 6 was bright and spacious with tiled floors, a large dining table, and a comfortable sofa. It is one floor up and faces Via Butera. Nicoletta Polo is a superb host and a highly cultivated woman of great personal charm, in... More

You will not be able yo ask for more for a home away from home. We took up apartment 13. It was spacious and equipped with everything that one needs in the kitchen, bathroom, washing facilities. One thing to note is, if you do not have full mobility, the stairs going up to the room may pose a problem. Just... More

The Duke and Duchess of Palma have converted one wing of their palazzo (previously owned by Lampedusa of "The Leopard" fame) into apartments for travelers. Our apartment was HUGE. A very large living room with fireplace that contained a comfortable seating area, a large dining room table and chairs and a queen-sized, comfortable sofa bed. The bedroom was almost as... More

The most memorable part of our 2 week driving tour of Sicily was our stay with Nicoletta at Butera 28. Nicoletta is an excellent hostess and cooking instructor, and made us feel at home as though we were part of her family. She arranged for our transport from the airport, a rental car for our drive around Sicily, and provided... More

We stayed at Butera 28 at the very beginning of an almost two week trip to Sicily. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment - fantastically large bedrooms, plus kitchen, foyer, living room and two bathrooms and laundry facilities. We also did a cooking class with the owner in her apartment right on the same floor. A fantastic experience -... More

Our apartment, number 12, on the third floor was 1200 square feet! Complete with a kitchen, washer, dishwasher, and large bathroom. It was a treat to stay here for our 3 days in Palermo. Jenny, the manager , was absolutely awesome and was the sweetest lady you can imagine. She was so helpful and knowledgable about the palazzo and gave... More

We had no expectations about Palermo but were repaid a thousandfold when we arrived at the airport and were picked up by a driver which the Nicoletta, the duchess, had arranged for us. Alessandro drove us quickly (a bit too quickly some might say) to the Palazzo in the La Kalsa district in which these wonderful apartments are. I think... More

We stayed in apartment 11, which is *exactly* as the photographs show on the website. What the pictures don't convey: the extreme hospitality, the massive size of the rooms (a single bed was added to the bedroom for us; they could have added a queen-size and we'd still have had room to waltz); the bathtub large enough for a really...
