Staying here is an experience. You are in an old palace in an interesting part of the city and next door live the current duke and duchess of Palma, who are wonderful. The duchess is a mine of information on what to do and where to eat. Apatrtment 17 was very spacious, rather old fashioned and comfortable but not luxurious.... More

We stayed for just 2 nights in Palermo in May 15 and I picked Butera 28 as it was recommended in my "Great Drives in Italy" guide book. The apartment (no. 9) was very roomy with good size bedroom (plenty of storage), dining room, living room, very small kitchen, balcony and roof top terrace. The roof top terrace had great... More

Huge apartments in the palazzo wher the author of The Leopard lived. Lovingly maintained by relatives who live in part of the building. We even got a tour of their personal area. Staff extremely helpful and friendly, apt clean and well-stocked (they even had milk and butter in the fridge for us when we arrived). Fascinating and lovely place.

These apartments are lovely. We stayed two nights in apartment 13 and wished we'd stayed longer. We felt like we were really living in Palermo - the apartment in this very gracious palazzo is perfectly located in a nice area of Palermo's old town and so elegantly furnished and comfortable. You could really settle in. Ours had everything we could... More

These apartments are very very special! The apartments are part of a fantastic Palace. If you want to stay somewhere really special - a real Palace - this is the place for you. They are furnished with real antiques and treasures. The apartments are enormous and have everything you might need whilst visiting this great City. The Duchess (yes! -... More

Staying at Butera 28 was like a step back in time, a taste of the reality of Sicilian life. It is perfect for travellers like me who want to experience some cultural authenticity. I was warmly welcomed into the home by the Duchess, with her Australian assistant, and then settled into my cosy apartment. I was fortunate enough to spend... More

Staying at Butera 28 offers far more than any hotel. The apartments are located in a beautiful Palazzo near the marina that belonged to Giuseppe di Lampedusa ( author of The Leopard) and is now owned by the author's nephew. The apartments themselves are very charming and spacious, with tiled floors and antique furniture. But the best thing about Butera... More

A stay at Butera 28 is a rare opportunity to immerse oneself in the culture and history of Palermo. We stayed for one fantastic week in apartment 12 where we were made to feel extremely welcome by Nicoletta and her team of staff. The apartment was beautiful and clean with balconies overlooking the via Butera and the Palermo skyline. We... More

These apartments are in a great location in Palermo, easy walking distance to the port and many restaurants. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. Our apartment was spacious and clean - a perfect setup for two women traveling together who wanted separate sleeping areas. My favorite touch was the lion's head on the front door!

My Fiance and I ended our two week exploration of Sicily in this wonderful apartment in Palermo. The apartment is very spacious and clean with a balconies off the bedroom, living room and kitchen. The kitchen is fully functional, we picked up some fantastic food from some of the local markets and cooked a fabulous dinner. The kitchen also comes... More
