At first we were a little concerned about the hotel, as it is so close to the train station off a small street. But once you get inside the lobby, it's just wonderful, the rooms were very spacious and ours opened into the inside terrace. I believe my room was 117 and it was a superior double, very nice with... This was my 2nd stay at this hotel, the first stay being in 2010. The location of the hotel makes it ideal for train and bus travellers. Via Platamone is not so smart, but many of Catania's streets are very much worse, in terms of decayed buildings, uncollected rubbish and footpath/road neglect. Once inside the hotel, the welcoming reception staff,... More

Not in the smart part of town, but incredibly well-positioned for bus and train stations - and therefore the airport - and a short walk from the historic centre. Rooms comfortable, though rather garishly decorated, beautiful inner sun-drenched courtyard/garden, modest breakfast. Friendly and obliging reception staff, who speak good English. Ideal for one or two nights at beginning or end... More

We were staying at Villa Romeo for 2 weeks while on holidays. That was quite some time ago . We had great experience and really enjoyed the hotel. The reception staff was extremely helpful , always giving us good advice and ready to help. At the restaurant as well we enjoyed breakfasts a lot and the service was really good.... More

Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Staff are very helpful and friendly, lovely rooms and great breakfast. Close to train and bus. Very nice pizza place around the corner that was recommended by the staff. Easy walk to city heart.

The best thing about Hotel Villa Romeo was the service. The staff at the desk was so helpful in finding restaurants, places for sightseeing, and even provided us with mosquito repellent after we mentioned we had bug bites. The second best thing about the hotel was the proximity to the bus station. Since we had planned day trips to Siracusa,... More

I am a single, senior citizen traveller on this trip, and I couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. It's not even a 5 minute walk from the bus station, as I came from Palermo. It is a single room with a single bed, and as soon as I walked into the room I was comfortable. It's quaint,... More

Our first doubts when entering the lobby from the loud and noisy street were soon replaced by pleasant surprise. Our double room, although small, was comfortable, with a giant television and a nice view into the hotel's garden. There was absolute silence from the street in our room. All of the hotel is very italian-style decorated. The toilets are equipped... More

Not in a particularly pretty part of Catania - we only stayed there because it was close to the station, thinking that we could catch a train to the airport. Wrong. We were better off just bypassing Catania altogether - catching a train to Catania station from Syracuse and then a cab to the airport. The staff were extremely rude... More
