The rooms are mostly, I think, on the 1st floor, and there is a really nice internal garden courtyard (see pictures), also on the 1st floor. We had a room facing onto this area, which was surprisingly quiet for a city hotel. I believe there are other rooms facing onto the street which I would want to avoid, as I... More

I chose this hotel because their web site advertises an airport shuttle (for a non-disclosed price). In spite of the hotel having our flight-arrival information, the shuttle did not appear and so we took a taxi. (30 euros). Needing to go back to the airport the next day, I got no apology from the front desk for leaving us stranded... More

near the train and bus stations so excellent for travelling out of catania on day trips but it is a 15 to 20 min walk into the centre for a choice of evening meals. we ate at primo piano 3 times - as only 5 mins away and good food at reasonable prices. the area is really not that bad... More

The area is not the nicest one in Catania. It looks dirty and unsafe, however the hotel is nice and cosy, with a simple free breakfast and very polite and helpful staff. I would recommend it.

We stayed in the Hotel Villa Romeo for two nights at the end of a short tour of south-eastern Sicily. If you are arriving by bus or train, it is very well situated - less than 5 minutes from the station and easily located. It is very convenient if you are arriving from the airport on the airport bus ;... More

I stayed for three nights at the Hotel Villa Romeo in March 2012 and would definitely recommend it - and stay there again. I booked my room online and felt that I got extremely good value for money. Positives: excellent location (right opposite the main railway station and 5 minutes' walk from the main 'bus station); friendly and helpful staff;... More

Catania isn't the prettiest town you will go to. Arriving at the bus station in the midst of a winter monsoon with flooded roads and pavements and in that type of area where bus stations seem to be we had negative thoughts A nice local helped us locate the hotel which really was only three streets down form the bus... I stayed at this hotel in August 2011 and had a very pleasant stay. This hotel is not in the 'city centre'. Yes, it's in Catania, it's VERY close to the bus depot which was perfect for my purposes, but it's a good 10-15 minute walk into the historic/downtown area of Catania. The room was sufficient (I stayed in a... More

We stayed at the Villa Romeo on the first and last nights of our recent holiday to Sicily. We chose it because it is handy for the railway station and buses to the airport. The staff were superb and so friendly, helping us to do our online check in for our flight and providing useful information on where to visit... More
