I was very pleasantly surprised, Il Principe is a wonderful small hotel with great service. The spotless, modern rooms were large and bright. I could not recommend it more highly. more

I looked at most of the hotels in the downtown Catania area and this was the one I picked. We booked 6 rooms for one night and enjoyed our stay. Recommend looking at their website, we booked a couple of months before and they were offering good deals. We also put in a request for a quiet room, after reading other reviews would confirm that the front rooms overlook steps that transform in the evenings as seating areas for adjacent restaurants. I know all the other reviews appear to be good, but our experience was quite the opposite, but maybe that was due to the cell we had that was supposed to be a room. We stayed in the Il Principe for 2 nights and had a great time there. We received a free upgrade to a suite so cannot fault the room. The staff were excellent and couldn't have been more helpful. They organised our tour and hotel pick-up to Mt.Etna. Super location - only footsteps from the historic Piazza Duomo. Highly Recommended ! more

We stayed here for four nights and found it to be a very nice hotel, the staff were friendly and the location couldn't be better. The local restraunts were very good and not too expensive. We really enjoyed our stay at Il Principe in Catania. The staff are really helpful and friendly which makes a nice change in Catania as we did not always find this to be the case from the locals !
