Ok its taken me a year to wrire this review but I am not the sort to do reviews yet a friend of ours who knew we had stayed in Sicily asked us recently if we would recommend our stay in Catania and this has prompted me to write this report.....now whilst the Romano Palace is not BAD.....its is most... more

The hotel was nice, rooms good condition. But I agree the 5 stars are far fetched. The restaurant was horrible, the worst food ever, we had to send a filet back since it was un-eatable. Ordered something else instead. But afterwards I found out they had still charged us for the un-eatable dish. The staff was a mix - the... more

We stayed at the romano palace for 8 nights at the end of august 08. Firstly this hotel is not by any stretch of the imagination 5* let alone luxury, it is at best 4* . Other than a fairly decent swimming pool there are no other facilities, unless you count the one computer with internet access, facilities offered on... more

We went to Sicily on August 2008 (17-24). We were very pleasently impressed with the hotel: beautiful park (garden), great pool, great breakfast, very nice room. We had a standard double room on the ground floor. The cleaning lady came in 2/day (more than enough). Bathroom was big enough. Great scent in all the hotel. Very frienldy staff. Good food... more

This is a really lovely hotel with beautiful grounds and very spacious and comfortable bedrooms. There is an unusually large swimming pool which was fairly under-utilised. We were surprised by the average age of the guests, which seemed to be around 30 (apart from us!) The staff on reception were excellent and helpful - they recommended a particularly good excursion... more

We are hotel connaissors and have often been disappointed by 5 star "luxury hotels" in italy. we were looking for a nice hotel with pool in or near catania, so the choices were very few, could book the romano through travelocity at very good prices, so we went for it. our expectations were not too great, but what a pleasant... more

My husband and I stayed at the Romano Palace for a week and had a great time. Lovely balcony, pool with jacuzzi jets, and breakfast options. The staff were excellent with good English and they appreciate any novice attempts at Italian too. The service is excellent at this hotel with the rooms being cleaned twice a day on most days.... more

As we needed to stay near the airport we selected the Romano Palace based on the reviews on this site. Disappointed is all I can say. For a hotel with 5 stars, I can only assume they were awarded on the basis it has a private beach (which we didn't visit) because it's a pretty standard hotel all round. We... more

Stayed for a week at the beginning of September and the hotel is only 10 minutes from the Airport (taxi is 20 euros). Hotel is fairly new and very well decorated and the rooms are nicely furnished with all the basics and have private belcony. Hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful and all spoke fantastic English! There is also... more

Stayed to this hotel only one night and I had to leave it very early the following ,morning. The hotel was booked and paied by my colleague so I cannot comment on the rate. The hotel is brand new and it is in Arabic style. The garden is bautiful with a stunning pool. Is located only 5 minutes from Catania... more
