Casa Barbera is a great combination of old and new. Some of the paintings on the old ceilings from the turn of the century have been saved, while the main parts of the rooms are modern, Italian design. The courtyard garden was extremely pleasant. Extremely clean. Antonio, the owner, has a sly sense of humor, good English, and gave us... More

My wife and I usually go to another B&B but they did not have rooms available for February. We were very worried as we really go after the best service which unfortunately several B&Bs do not have. We found Casa Barbero after several days of searching and panicking to find a place and so we gave it a go. Well,... More

We were a group of instructors for a youth seminar in Catania. I was in charge of finding a suitable B&B in the right location for the group. When I was in Italy last March I visited the Casa Barbero as a possibility. When I was showed the rooms and property and met the host, Antonio, I was sold! It... More

An excellent location in the city of Catania. Antonio is the refet host with plenty of helpful information on things to do and see. The Metro and bus terminus is within easy walking distance and has access to the main train station, supermarket, restaraunts, bars and a kiosk. Huge shopping mall near the airport within reach by bus. Airport transfers... More

I spent five days at Casa Barbero last summer, as a guest of Catania University... The place is very nice and quiet, with a beautiful inner courtyard, and it's only steps from Catania's main street. Great breakfast in the morning with freshly baked croissants. The owner was very friendly, he even let me take home a book I found in... More

One of the nicest B+B's I have ever stayed in and is as good if not better than MANY, much more expensive hotels that I have stayed in (I travel a lot). They really looked after me and made my short stay in Catania even better.

A very charming place with nice people, great breakfast (capuccino and fresh cornetto, yummy), a very quiet place to relax, with a nice garden, but in the downtown...every nice place, restaurant, etc is near. I will be back.

Antonio is a charming and helpful host who speaks good English which was a great help to 2 non Italian speakers. Prior to arriving he sent full details of how we could check in unaided and his communications were exemplary. He also checked the times of the Circumetnea railway for us (which was a good thing as the information we... More
