No television! No swimming pool.!This hotel is ideal if you want to step off this busy world and recharge the batteries of the mind and body.Sitting in the cloisters at breakfast time or late afternoon in the cool shade or evening when the sun is going down is an experience not to be missed. The staff are very helpful and friendly and... more

We stayed from the 3th till the 10th of June at the San Francesco Hotel, and we really enjoyed our trip. It´s a really nice oldtown-hotel, and the atmosphere of an old cloister. Its the best possibility for stay, if you like to be central and like to make some walks in the town. I need to disagree with the... more

Just returned from a 7 night holiday travelling around Sardinia and stayed for 2 nights at Hotel San Francesco. We chose this based on previous reviews and were really glad we did. From the initial email contact with the hotel and throughout our stay they were really helpful and we got exactly what we were expecting. The hotel is in... more

....I have to agree that the hotel boasts the best location in Alghero, the staff are nice and the peace and tranquility of the cloister area is hard to beat. However, we stayed at the hotel for 9 nights and neither of us got a decent sleep the whole time. The beds are the most uncomfortable beds that we've ever... more

Lovely hotel in a great location in the old town of Alghero. Rooms were pleasantly furnished with air conditioning. The breakfast was simple but traditional and served in the delightful cloisters. more

The cloisters in the centre of the hotel are cool and tranquil and relaxing. It's in a great location. The staff are friendly but when they designed the bare rooms, double bed = two matresses pushed together, I think they decided that you were going to feel what it was like to be a monk, like it or not. No... more

We stayed in this hotel (well perhaps it should be described as a well managed youth hostel with basic breakfast) during a brief trip to Sardinia. The beds were the worst I have ver encountered - so narrow that if you turned without remembering how narrow the were you would fall out. They were metal beds - they reminded me... more

The hotel is in the centre of the old town and was perfect for us. We were woken in the morning by swifts chattering noisily in the bluest sky; breakfasts were fine...capuccino, orange juice and pastries sitting in the cloisters while we planned a day sightseeing to Bosa or lazing on the beach...room was clean, cool and had everything we... more

The location of this hotel is perfect. Right in the centre of town yet in a quiet spot, especially if you get one of the rooms overlooking the church cloisters. The staff are very friendly and efficient and will make good recommendations with regards to restaurants etc. The rooms are a little disappointing and a little basic but are comfortable... more

While this hotel is extremely central (old town Alghero) and has a lovely courtyard area and Cloisters. Be warned the rooms are extremely basic, beds very hard and breakfast stingy x1 coffee x1 pastry x1 juice, although you can bulk up on all the rusks you can eat. I did have a wonderful moment listening to the choir singing in... more
