We did not expect this to be a luxury hotel, being one of the cheaper options in Alghero. But it is billed as 3*, and it certainly is not that. Sorry if this review sounds very negative, we knew we were not getting a brilliant hotel for the money we paid ( it is Sardinia in July!) but especially chose... More

Just back from a weeks stay here. The hotel is situated 50m from the beach but a good half hour walk to the town centre. We have no complaints about the hotel - we were in room 91 with a great view across the harbour. The room was kept spotless for the whole time we were there. The bath was... More

Just back from a week at this hotel;pretty basic but typical of most of the Italian hotels we've stayed in over the years.Bathroom layout was a bit odd but the hotel was very clean and the staff were great.Lots of restaurants nearby;one of the nicest ones is right across the road from the hotel and anyone travelling with Thomson gets... The hotel is situated just 50 meters from the sea front. It is a basic but very clean hotel and the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. It has a large (for a hotel) pool with plenty of sunbathing and other shaded areas. The rooms are large with air conditioning as standard. You are just 800 meters from the old... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 weeks in August. Hotel is pretty basic as I expected. I wasn't expecting anything fancy and it didn't bother me either. The room was cleaned every day and towels changed. The hotel itself is very clean but no were near the standards of the other 3 star hotels we saw during our... More

Very disappointing hotel, most of the staff were unfriendly. Basics such as an iron/steamer or hair dryer were unavailable. Breakfast was decent, could have been better. The area in general is very racist and uneducated, lacking so much culture. There is definitely no nightlife in the area. As Africans we found Sardinians very cold and not welcoming at all.

This is the second time I have visited Alghero and stayed in Hotel Riviera. I discovered the hotel via booking it with Thompson holidays, and it is a great find. The hotel is a great simple place to stay and the staff are really friendly. The owner is an expat Brit, who is married to a local. The hotel is... More

Me and my girlfriend just got back from a seven nights stay at hotel riviera in alghero. Our impression of the hotel was unfortunately not great even though we didn't have that high expectations when we first booked it. We know it's just a 3-star hotel but for the price we paid you really should get more value for the... More

Everything was OK. The room, the staff, the breakfast, the bed etc. Nothing bad but nothing special either. The room was very clean (although the bannister left my hands dirty!). The location is quite a long walk from the town but it is close to the beach and railway station if you like to explore as we do. Only a... More

I must admit after already booking this Hotel prior to reading reviews I was a little concerned about some of the horror stories. I need not have worried as we found all the staff very friendly and helpful and everywhere in the Hotel spotlessly clean. The towels were changed every day and our bed linen was changed four times in... More
