The hotel is on the southern end of Alghero, just a brief walk from the city centre. We were not blessed with great weather, but nevertheless the sea views from our room were really stunning. The room itself was quite large, modern, impeccably clean, with all the amenities you can expect. The mattress in particular was really comfortable. Breakfast had... More

A great base! Hotel has stunning views (sea view is a must) and is a ten min walk from town centre. Value for money was amazing as the facilities (bar, pool, breakfast) you cannot fault. Easy to get too, free parking,

We visited the Bar at Carlos V for an aperitif before dinner in late January. The lobby was a bit disappointing and looked impersonal. Amazing and super accommodating bartender named Marco at the bar, the quality of his products and service exceeded our expectations and the view from the terrace was breathtaking. Definitely recommended for a drink in town overlooking... More

We stayed at the Carlos in July for two weeks, opting for a suite to have that bit of true quality. We weren't disappointed. The hotel itself is finished to a high standard, food choice and standard is wide and of a high quality. Staff are friendly and professional. The location is also very good, with views out across the... More

A good walk from the walled old city, the location limits the already sparse choices of dining in the off-season. The off-season timing of our visit made for other limited services (no pool, etc.). Staff members were very friendly. The room we had did afford a glimpse of the beautiful water from its terrace. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom... More

Please do not jusdge the Carlos V by its' 5 star rating or else you will be comparing apples and oranges and it will disappoint. It cannot be compared to the Dorchester in London or the Georges V in Paris. But then, the prices of the Carlos V were a fraction of those establishments. That said, we enjoyed our stay... More

This isn't the prettiest hotel I have ever stayed in but the view is wonderful. It is situated a pleasant 15 minute walk along the seafront from the Alghero old town. Our room was large and very comfortable with 2 armchairs. The bathroom was nice although the shower (over the bath) could have been a bit more powerful. The complimentary... More

Large comfortable rooms with free soft drinks in fridge & robes and slippers. Great large salt water pool with plenty of room for their loungers and umbrellas. Restaurant was a little disorganised but food was OK. Breakfast was included and had continental and cooked. We walked to town easily. We grabbed a great deal so we were content to stay,... More

Large comfortable rooms with huge bed and good en suite facilities. Free soft drinks in the mini bar a bonus , as were slippers and dressing gowns. Air conditioning too abrasive and number of un-identified light switches made the lighting systems confusing. Disappointing for a 5 star hotel to charge for in room tea and coffee making facilities. Large restaurant... More

My husband and I stayed at this Hotel the 2nd week in September. Firstly its a beautiful Hotel in a lovely elevated setting with wonderful views of the sea (if you book a sea view room)! Staff were very friendly and helpful although sometimes the staff in the Restaurant seemed as though their lights were on but nobody was in!!... More
