Nice hotel,Nice view, Good location. Had a problem booking this hotel, the english version of the web site said that the site was 'under maintaincce' and it still is?. Tried the email option, but got no responce to 2 emails. Fresh blood red orange juice was out of the world, pity about the hard bread on day 2. A dirty/marked... more

Hotel reception stuff were very rude and not friendly at all. Always they look annoyed and frustrated. You can not expect any hotel service you get from decent hotels such as money exchange, asking directions, etc. You can be serviced only when they are in good mood, maybe? but reluctanty. The hotel doesn't deserve the name of "Grand" and internatinal... more

As other have stated, desk clerks are not friendly, nor very attentive. If you need help, expect to wait at the front desk till they are darn ready... Rooms were typical, though I understand the "street" side is noisy. Definetly go for the ocean view rooms. Elevators are VERY small, and after a long travel with a lot of bags,... more

The exterior and lobby area of the Grand Hotel Delfino live up to its name. Once in the hotel area however, things change. This is a six story hotel with 200 rooms and two elevators which are also used for baggage transport. Elevators hold six people when packed like sardines - if the weight limit is not surpassed. Rooms were... more

The hotel was clean and accommodating. The food was good, there was a decent pool and the elevator worked. However, the wait staff was rude, Italian spoken or not. One red headed waiter had an absolute meltdown because a very pleasant Italian American lady in our group tried to tell him something funny her husband had said. All he wanted... more

I read some of the previous reviews, and although I have no way of knowing for sure, came away with the idea the folks who wrote the negative reviews were expecting the sort of service one gets in capital-city tourist hotels. We're talking about an industrial town in Italy, for heavens' sake! I know a few hundred words of Italian,... more

I am glad that I wasn't staying in the ordinary Delfino, if this was the Grand then the ordinary must be pretty poor. Very shabby, in need of considerable attention, pool green with algae, bar more shut than open, no service of any kind during the day. On the positive side a pretty reasonable breakfast served by attentive and helpful... more

Our room at the Grand Hotel Delfino faced the seaport, it was spectacular, especially at sunset. We were able to see the ships coming in to port. We were within easy walking distance to shops and excellent restaurants. more

My husband and I were part of a Globus tour of southern Italy in May 2004 and we stayed here 2 nights. Other tour groups were also booked in. The hotel is on a main street in Taranto and rooms can face the street or the Bay. Our room faced the one way main street on the third floor with... more

I arrived at the "Grand" Hotel Delfino on the 4th of August, 2003. My first impression of the staff was not pleasant as the conceirge on duty watched impassivly as I strugged through the partially functional doors with my luggage. Upon checking in, he seemed somewhat annoyed at having to use English, despite the advertisement that it was a multi-national... more
