We stayed at Pensione Giulia for four nights in December 2013 and enjoyed wonderful hospitality from owner Pascuale, his mother and his staff. Pascuale spoke good English and was always happy to chat and exchange ideas. He was helpful and friendly and gave us good advice of places to eat and visit in and around Bari. Our room was a... More

We went in not expecting much and were surprised by the great service (everybody from the owner to the cleaning lady) and the spacious, clean room with a superb hand-painted ceiling. The room was a good size (the huge ceiling height made everything appear bigger) with an Italian style balcony. The hotel is located in a beautiful building with two... More

I stayed here for six nights in April-May 2013. I'm surprised by a previous comment about unfriendly staff. My experience was the opposite. I was greeted by a friendly woman who spoke in slow and clear Italian (I speak Italian but have lost fluency since being away from Italy for 35 years). Most other staff spoke English. My room was... I was in a bit of a bind as I'd been on trains literally all day so I couldn't find a place to stay that would be open after my 11:30 PM-arrival, and then some locals pointed me to this hotel. It was still staffed at 12:30 in the morning and the receptionist was polite and helpful despite my low... More

We're Americans living in Italy, and we've travelled all over the country, so we have a pretty good idea by now of what we should expect when we visit a new Italian city. This hotel was appalling in every way (except the location, which was handy to the train-station). The room decor could be categorized as "1960's flea market" and... More

We stayed here after getting the all day ferry from Dubrovnik, before getting a flight from Bari the next morning. Hotel was easy to find on foot from the port. Good size room, clean and comfortable, light sleepers might be affected by street noise. Breakfast was basic and the coffee was cold but wasn't expecting much. Staff were friendly and... More

I stayed in Bari overnight on my way to Rome, after coming over from Croatia on the ferry. The hotel was fairly easy to find and in close proximity to the train station. My room and the (shared) bathroom were spotless and the staff very friendly despite the language barrier! This hotel was ideal was an overnight stop-over.

My wife wanted to look thru old records for links to her family in a nearby town so we stayed in Bari for two nights. The hotel was very good, with a nice breakfast in the morning, and close to the train station. The only issue we had was the street outside was very noisy and our room seemed to... More

We selected this hotel for it's proximity to the train station because we had an early morning departure, and were pleasantly surprised. It is an easy 5 minute walk from the train station on the second floor (with elevator) of a building it shares with two other hotels. Our room was large, with high ceilings and a balcony. The furnishings... More
