We chose to stay at Hotel Scalzi because of its location, only a 10 min walk from the train station and about the same to all the sights in Verona including the Amphitheatre and the castle (which is home to a great museum). We stayed here for 2 nights in a double room. The room was quiet, nicely furnished and... More

The good: Hotel Scalzi is a 10 minute walk from the Verona train station and a less than 5 minute walk from the city center. It's safe and the rooms are clean/well equipped. That said, I was quite surprised to find that they charged for wifi (the first time in our two week vacation we had seen that!) and that... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Scalzi. It is just a few minutes walking distance to the main attractions in Verona. Room was spacious, quiet and very clean. Breakfast was a selection of cake, cheeses and local meats, as well as fruit and cereals. Selection was limited, but everything was fresh and tasted great. Staff was very friendly and... More

As always when booking a city break, I always rely on the reviews of previous visitors. Hotel Scalzi had received mainly positive reviews and I can safely say that I agree with all of them! Charming little hotel - Sophia on the front desk was especially friendly and helpful when we first arrived. When arriving at the airport you then... More

Unique building, restored in recent years. Charming, loved the lobby and common areas, especially the breakfast room. Lovely natural light, fabulous selection of breads and dolci, fresh cappuccino or espresso, all in the Italian way! Very clean. Will just say the bathroom is beautiful but not what Americans are used to (a little lacking in privacy, at least in the... More

We spent four nights at Hotel Scalzi in July 2014. The location was perfect. It was an easy walk to the town center and to the train station. We were traveling with our teenagers, so we got two rooms. Our children were in a double/twin standard on the 2nd floor of the hotel. The room was smaller, but adequate for... More

We booked the Scalzi due to its strategic location between the rail station and the centre of town - roughly 10 minutes' walk to the station and a bit less into town - and good price. The hotel is easy enough to find from the station, and turns out to be in a quiet part of town, but within easy... More

After four weeks of touring Europe using mostly "group" hotels, Hotel Scalzi was an extremely welcome change. A wonderful example of refurbished antiquity, Scalzi is warm and efficient, with very friendly, helpful service. We were given a room overlooking a courtyard so it was extremely quiet, comfortable, clean and functional. Take the time to enquire about the Hotel's most interesting... More

Hotel Scalzi was a great find. It is located in an old building in central Verona, very close to the train station and Porta Nuova, a walking distance from Verona's major attractions. Patrizia and all staff were very welcoming, nice and helpful. The room was nice, quiet and very clean, with a terrace outside. The bed comfortable, the bathroom newly... More

Even does not look so fine from outside, once you get inside you'll be surprised in a good way. Staff, room, lobby,Wi-fi ... everything it's fine. The only annoying thing was the fact that the heating system were stopped during the night, probably between 1:00 AM and 7:00 AM :) ... but we get used, anyway wasn't so cold ..... More
