When staying in Verona, finding a suitable hotel which meets all your expectations can be a lottery. If what you want is good value, a convenient location, a warm welcome, professionally run by members of the one family, then you need look no further than this small characterful hotel. Bedroom sizes vary as you would expect in an old period... More

We were one couple staying at the Hotel Scalzi for two nights (Sept. 11-12). We were delighted with this small hotel. The location was perfect – an easy walking distance to either Piazza Erbe or Piazza Bra and all the other main attractions of this lovely city. You can take several different routes from the hotel to the city centre... More

Short walk from the station. Footpath is a bit rough when dragging your suitcase. Great entrance thought old wooden doors. Staff, fantastic. So helpful and nice. Room was all I needed. Bathroom is small, but you don't really need a huge room. 10 min walk to the arena. Great breakfast, was full by the time I left. Loved this hotel.

We stayed here for one night on an Italian road trip. I booked based on many reviews but was disappointed when i arrived. In photos the hotel looks like a little boutique hotel but its not quite there. There was a smell in the lobby which reminded me of a weird library. Then breakfast the next day was very basic... Near to the station but easy walking into the historical centre of Verona. Only downside for English (readers in bed!) the low voltage lights in the room made things a little dim. Lovely breakfast and very helpful staff - eager to give advice on places to visit and eat. Would stay again

We found prior reviews re the good rooms (although a little dark), very helpful staff and good breakfast in a rather uniquely decorated room with patio access all as posted. We had a car and both reserved and paid the extra 10 euros for a secured indoor spot a block away and across the street. Unload your luggage in front... More

This was a great find. When we walked up to the hotel, which is about 500m from the train station, I grew concerned from the outside looks. But I was pleasantly surprised. The location is great, the staff were extremely nice, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was terrific, and their WiFi was excellent. I'll return if I... More

Located at walking distance from the historical city centre of Verona, this hotel is inside an historical palace. The hotel personnel is very welcoming and kind. There's no restaurant but in the area around the hotel you can find many good restaurants. Breakfast is served in the breakfast room. This hotel is a good choice if you would like to... More

We had one night here as a last minute stopover on a tour. Location is great - a short walk to all the sights. The building is full of authentic style and character. Room was well appointed, stylish, quiet (even though overlooking the main road) and comfortable. The breakfast room is stunning in summer with a lovely terrasse, a good... More

It took us a moment to figure out how to enter after the cab driver drove away. It feels more like a B&B than a hotel. The room we stayed in was a bit small for our liking and we were not very happy with the layout of the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was very mediocre and could be better.... More
