Near to the station but easy walking into the historical centre of Verona. Only downside for English (readers in bed!) the low voltage lights in the room made things a little dim. Lovely breakfast and very helpful staff - eager to give advice on places to visit and eat. Would stay again

We found prior reviews re the good rooms (although a little dark), very helpful staff and good breakfast in a rather uniquely decorated room with patio access all as posted. We had a car and both reserved and paid the extra 10 euros for a secured indoor spot a block away and across the street. Unload your luggage in front... More

This was a great find. When we walked up to the hotel, which is about 500m from the train station, I grew concerned from the outside looks. But I was pleasantly surprised. The location is great, the staff were extremely nice, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was terrific, and their WiFi was excellent. I'll return if I... More

Located at walking distance from the historical city centre of Verona, this hotel is inside an historical palace. The hotel personnel is very welcoming and kind. There's no restaurant but in the area around the hotel you can find many good restaurants. Breakfast is served in the breakfast room. This hotel is a good choice if you would like to... More

We had one night here as a last minute stopover on a tour. Location is great - a short walk to all the sights. The building is full of authentic style and character. Room was well appointed, stylish, quiet (even though overlooking the main road) and comfortable. The breakfast room is stunning in summer with a lovely terrasse, a good... More

It took us a moment to figure out how to enter after the cab driver drove away. It feels more like a B&B than a hotel. The room we stayed in was a bit small for our liking and we were not very happy with the layout of the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was very mediocre and could be better.... More

Hotel very well situated for old city and train station . Warm welcome from reception . Breakfast good , bed very comfortable , The room even with the light on was very dark . Wifi good . Would recommend the line A plus B tour bus option from opposite the Arena- good history lesson .

Hotel Scalzi is a good quality, well located hotel. Our room had a slightly unusual layout, with an en suit bathroom with an opaque sliding door. This did mean that whilst on the loo you're fairly well visible from the main room. Not great for privacy, but this may have been unique to our room (6) Other than that it's... More

Our room was large -- a suite, which we didn't expect, beautifully furnished, adjacent to the outdoor breakfast area. The breakfast was also plentiful, and the staff very kind, with fairly good English. The hotel is most convenient to the railroad station, and fairly convenient to most of Verona's attractions, although places such as the Roman Bridge are a hike.

The Hotel is located in an old building maybe in need of a little redecoration however once inside the place oozes charm & class. Our double room was spacious & clean with everything we needed for our 2 night stay. The location is convenient for walking into the old city with the sights of Verona certainly worth seeing. Breakfast was... More
