Patrizia, her family and staff are delightful and very helpful. Good bed (small double for single occupancy with choice of pillows) + en suite shower room, not much natural light but being out most of the day, it doesn't matter. As a small hotel, this is a lovely, traditional, 'quirky' property. Excellent continental breakfast with cereals, yoghurts, fruit salad, salami, hams,... More

We were a couple spending a we in Verona. The building is really beautiful, if you are one who likes old buildings that seem to really connect you with the past. The staff was really nice and breakfast is served in a small dining room that makes you feel like dining in your grandma's house. Beautiful paintings on the walls... More

My family and I (2 adults, 2 tweenage children) stayed here for 3 nights. We loved the traditional feel, combined with modern updating, of this hotel. You really feel like you've stayed with an Italian family. The rooms are elegant and clean. Continental breakfast, with a reasonable amount of choice, is served in a quirky room that opens out onto... More

We stayed here in August with our 4 teenage/adult children. If you want a modern, soulless hotel then this is not the place for you. If you like interesting, quirky buildings with friendly staff then this is your place! All the staff were welcoming and friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable with good air conditioning and small but adequate... More

Very nice hotel, very well situated close to the centre of Verona/Arena/old town. The hotel has 24h reception with very nice a pleasant people. Room are very nice, beautiful old fashion design. Just nice place with italian spirit. I had a room 22 - maybe a bit small for such a price! But think about that you are in the... More

Really nice traditional feeling hotel. Stayed one night to visit the opera in the Arena. Reception staff were very helpful. The provision of cushions for use in the Arena was a nice touch. Breakfast is served, weather permitting, in a delightful courtyard at the rear of the property

From the street, Hotel Scalzi doesn't look like much. But go thru the big wooden door in the wall, then enter the glass doors to the lobby - and you've found a gem. Each of the reception staff whom we met in our 3 day stay were friendly, helpful and spoke several languages, including English (good for us, since we've... More

The hotel was a five minute walk from the centre. It was well appointed and the service was excellent. Our room which was S1 which had a mezzanine bedroom above a spacious living room. It was clean and the hotel and its staff could not be faulted.

What a cute sweet hotel this is. Everything is clean, cosy and the staff incredibly friendly. I was not expecting our experience to be that good. EVERYTIME again. The windows could have been a bit darker, but this is me being really picky :-)

Lots of character in this hotel. Staff were all very polite and obliging. Our party of 10 arrived early ( I had advised the owner that we would be arriving between 11:00 and mid-day) and 4 of the five rooms were ready! The 5th, an upgrade was ready in 15 minutes. Can't fault that sort of service. Breakfast was typical... More
