Not a good experience in this hotel. Cramped room furnished poorly as if donated by a charity. Bathroom small and no hot water on first night there - was told we could go to another section of the hotel for a shower late at night! Useless fridge.Very limited and poor quality breakfast in a bvleak room - did not encourage... more

This hotel is right outside the gates of the old city on a very busy thoroughfare. The location is great for walking into the city and seeing the sights. My room was very large with an updated large bathroom with tub. Actually it was quite nice. The bathroom shade wouldn't go down though and no one ever came to fix... more

We booked two rooms and both were clean and big enough for the four of us. The location is OK, although it was a surprise for us that the hotel is located above a McDonald's, however, there was absolutely any food smells during our stay, The hotel is located in the main turistic corridor, so there is a lot of... more

From the hotel description on the website you would think this is a boutique hotel. The only factual info is that it is in the centre of town. Its ground floor is shared with a Mcdonalds with all the noise smell and rubbish that incurs but the two rooms we were shown bore no relation with the photos on the... more

If you are going to the opera and want to be able to walk to all the beautiful sights Verona has to offer this is the ideal hotel for you. The rooms are spotless and not too small. The breakfast was excellent. Yes it is a little expensive on opera nights but that sort of balances out with the price... more

Hotel Mastino is a good 3-star hotel. It is expensive for a 3-.star but then Verona is expensive during the opera season and compared to the other alternatives we got a fairly good deal. As has been said before by previous posters, the location is good just minutes from the Arena. Although definitely no snobs, before arriving we were a... more

The hotel was perfectly situated close to train station and to the arena. Very clean and staff were very friendly. We booked the renovated room which had a modern feel to it. For 10extra EUR it was well worth it. I would definitely stay at this place again. more

Convenient to reach from the station and for all Verona's historic attractions - especially the Arena. We stayed in the "dependence", an annexe of the main hotel in a side-street about 2 minutes away on foot. This seemed a bit quieter than the hotel proper and was right next to the best Southern Italian retaurant/pizzeria in Verona - Marechiare. Though... more

I have stayed at this hotel six times and only because the location is unbeatable and it is very easy to get to and from the railroad station.--about a 12 minute walk or a four minute bus ride. It is clean--the rooms are small although the bathrooms are a decent size and huge in proportion to the room. The staff... more

2nd visit to the Mastino, this time stayed in their apartments; wonderful spot next to the river yet only a 2 minute walk to the Arena. Friendly staff could not do enough to help us from the moment we arrived until we checked out - we plan to return again. more
