I agree with all the other fabulous reviews of this hotel! Was rather worried by the fast food look of the restaurant when we arrived but we needn't have worried! We had the room everyone mentions on the second floor with balcony overlooking the arena. The views are outstanding and it's beautifully appointed and equipped. The air conditioning was great... This is a great hotel. Rothenhof, kostarico and others have put it perfectly and I have little more to add. We stayed in the double room overlooking the Arena and it was perfect. Very spacious, fabulous shower and jacuzzi, great views, and well stocked with complimentary food and drinks. A bit more expensive than some of the other rooms but... More

There is little I can say that has not already been said. Fabulous place to stay when visiting Verona. All team members were so friendly, helpful and efficient. Breakfast was unexpectedly good; freshly made fruit salad, freshly squeezed orange juice, plates of ham, Greek yogurt with honey and nuts etc etc. Beautiful well equipped bedroom and one of the most... The Location is Great, close to the main square, Arena, and shopping streets. It is also within walking distance to Juliet's house. The rooms are nice, huge and clean. Free beverages and coffee making machine. The breakfast is great at Ippopotamo restaurant and serves a wide variety of foods. We stayed for 1 night in a January (very cold night... More

One of the best hotels I've ever been, located right at Arena Do Verona. Big spacy and comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast and staff. I would return there for sure if I ever come back to Verona again

Centrally located in front of Arena, Piazza Brà, the heart of the historic centre of Verona. Entrance it seems to be quite simple one, but inside décor, big cozy and maintained rooms give glimpses of real rich culture. The beautiful café at hotel opening in front of Arena, Piazza Brà , one can spend hours sitting with enjoying delicious and... More

Our family of five traveled to verona to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We stayed at Locanda Ippopotamo in the charming "Quadruple Room with Arena view". The room was even better than we thought it would be! Our room was very spacious with a main bedroom and bathroom and an upstairs loft with seating area, bed, and bathroom. We went thought... More

Arriving at the hotel was originally surprisingly, as we entered through a cafe on the piazza - there is little signage for the hotel at the given address. However, once we were shown to our gorgeous room, all was well. We stayed in the deluxe room on the second floor - the only one with little verandas overlooking Piazza Bra... More

I stayed at the "Locanda Ippopotamo" with my girlfriend from 31.12.13.-02.01.14. The hotel has only few rooms and we were lucky to have the BEST room, maybe in the whole city in Verona: Big, cozy, with a large jacuzzi (for 2 regular persons) in a big bathroom, with a very comfortable bed, a minibar, a fruit basket, a Nespresso machine,... I love Verona! I visit it every year because I just enjoy its quite and romantic atmosphere. But in order to have the maximum comfort one must choose the right hotel. Ippopotamo's unbeatable location is by itself enough to make this hotel the best and probably the right hotel in Verona. I stayed at the Locanda during Christmas time and... More
