I don't know what went on with the last reviewer, but perhaps a youth hostel would be more appropriate than an hotel with reasonably high standards next time? 1) Hotel This is a modern, architect designed hotel. Not especially flash, though the sofas in reception are Le Corbusier copies. I had a room in the semi-circular corner tower, which was... more

I got a room through Skoosh from the Porta Palio after reading good reviews here. But I wish I had gone with ANY other option in Verona. This place turned out to be like a bad dream - you just can't believe that it's actually happening like this. We arrived late (11:30) at the hotel, very tired (it is a... more

On a map then the Porta Palio is a short walk away from the station and very close to the city centre. While it is only about 10minutes walk from the station and about 5mins drive from the centre of town it can feel a little isolated on the outskirts of the city. Nevertheless the staff were helpful and friendly... more

We stayed 2 nights and were more than satisfied. Our room was on the small side and its decor was uninspired, but it was clean, quiet, air-conditioned and lacked nothing (no mini-bar but a fridge for guests' own use). Compact but well-designed bathroom with great water pressure in the shower! Just outside the city walls, it is only a short... more

We stayed only one night at this hotel. The hotel was fine, nothing bad, nothing fantastic. It was on a very busy road but the double glazing meant that you didn't hear the traffic. It was someway from the centre of town but an easy walk. We probably would have stayed somewhere more central (to save time) had we have... more

The rooms were comfortable and clean, the staff were friendly and the air conditioning did its job. Breakfast was fine. The location was a little bleak (right next to a dual carriageway) and with no obvious shops or restaurants nearby but the hotel is handy both for the station and for Piazza Bra - both around 20 minutes walk. On... more

The hotel was chosen first of all because of its location - not far from the station. We lived just several days in Verona and wanted to go to the lake Garda and than to Padua. It was easy to find the way with a map given to us at the station and it was not far away. It took... more

Room was nice and pretty quiet, although on a busy street. Bus stop to train station and main plaza area is down the street and around the corner - somewhat inconvenient. Location was farther outside of the main part of town than expected and not walkable. Ended up taking cabs back and forth rather than waiting for usually packed buses... more

Easy 20 minute walk from the station.Outside the old city wall but only a 20 min stroll to the Arena. Close to St Zeno - a must see - and right opposite Verona Lido swimming pool. Very friendly staff and exellent cold buffet breakfast. Did not try the restaurant. Courtesy bus to and fro Arena on Opera evenings. Booked through... more
