My husband and I have just returned after a 2 night stay. Firstly, dont be put off by the brightly coloured exterior. We booked here after being unable to find anywhere nearer to the town. After reading some of the mixed reviews, we where a little anxious how we would find it. We where warmly welcomed by the very pleasant... More

Convenient if you're travelling by car, as you can leave it yt the hotel (7 spots outside for free or underground car park= 8 EUR/ day). Should you be travelling by bus/ train, something more central would be preferable. Rooms are clean and neat, but still very small. About 30 cm/ 1 inch between the bed and the opposite wall.... More

Dear Guest, to reach Piazza Bra and the Arena from our Hotel Porta Palio the footpath is exactly 2 km (source Google Maps, everyone can easily see that). We always suggest our guests to reach the downtown following a footpath which runs in front of San Zeno Basil (that is very close to Hotel Porta Palio) and Castelvecchio. If you... More

Firstly, Verona is a beautiful city, but if you want to see things in comfort and at your own leisure go during the week and avoid Saturdays when all the day trippers descend upon the city! The Porta Palio is located just south west of the main city centre, around a 20 minute walk from the Arena and main eating... More

Porta Palio hotel is one of the best price vs distance to Verona city center trade-offs. It's around 10 mins away from Castle Del Vecchio, maybe 20 mins away from the Roman Arena or the central area of the city. The staff there, both in hotel and restaurant, was very friendly and helpful. No complaints about food, or price which... More

The room was well equipped and the bathroom was a good size in our room. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and recommended a great restaurant. The walk into town is pleasant and easy, and the free onsite parking plus free buffet breakfast are the icing on the cake. More

Hotel was very good. Position was excellent, right outside the city centre. When you arrive from the highroad you gor straight on 7km then turn right after few minutes you see the hotel. For getting to city centre it takes about 20 minutes to Arena, about 10 minutes and you are already in the city. In the attached resturant there... More

My husband and I had gotten lost getting to the hotel and wandered around with heavy backpacks for almost an hour so we arrived exhausted and in need of time to relax. We checked in to the hotel at 4 and went up to our room, I had asked for non-smoking, and the floor didn't smell like smoke but once... More

It's quite a walk from the central station and the hotel is situated besides a 4-lane motorway. Ridiculous traffic situation in some parts of Italy. Rooms are basic with uninspiring view, even though a small river flows by rapidly. Staff is very helpful, but gave us sponsored replies on what restaurant to choose. After pressing for other alternatives the clerk... More

Freedom Treks booked this room for my husband and me as a part of a seven day bike tour of Italy, The staff was friendly and helpful. The outside of the building is cute and the room was a good size. That's all the good things I can write. Two of the Staff people were quite unhelpful, one of them downright surly. The breakfast, included in the per-night price, was barely adequate (low quality items) and the coffee was HORRID! (They're happy to provide unlimited, free coffee... More
