Tucked away off a small canal, yet steps from the 'main drag,' this hotel near the middle of Venice wowed us with great hospitality, gourmet food and spa quality amenities in luxurious surroundings. Getting there from the Ca D'Oro water taxi stop was a little tricky, but well worth it and turned out to be part of the enchantment. The... More

Had read reviews about this hotel and chosen it. We came into the Venice in car, parked in piazzle Roma and took the bus from there to ca'dor which is five stops away in line no 1. We were lost but in the end found our way to the hotel and what a surprise we got. Packed in a small... More

The recent reviews are absolutely right. An excellent hotel in a very quiet neighbourhood, yet ony 5 minutes away from Strada Nuova and the Ca D'Oro vaporetto stop - which does have an automatic ticket machine to get your waterbus ticket that you ordered online. The hotel's own map is free and better than a shop-bought one.

Luxurious hotel in a quiet spot away from the tourists but close to the vaparetto stop Spacious executive room and bathroom. Not enough tea and milk available but you do get a chocolate by the bed, lovely double aspect view. Good breakfast apart from the boiled bacon. Didn't spend enough time at the hotel to take advantage of the prosecco.... More

This is a very nice hotel and worth the price. A few extra minutes walk off the beaten path but well worth it. Very nice and luxurious type rooms, breakfast is very very filling in the morning with plenty of options to choose from. My bathroom was extremely small and wifi was spotty but those are small concessions to the... More

This hotel is fabulous and in a great location. Off the beaten path in a nice quiet location, its a pleasant 10 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge, and 15 to San Marco. Very close to the vaparetto stop, and alilaguna to the airport. The front desk was always friendly and ready to help. We had a junior suite, which... More

We stayed in an executive room and it looked exactly as it does on their website. King size (two twins) bed, comfortable couch, wardrobe, table and chairs. The room was elegant, comfortable and clean. The front desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast was wonderful – eggs, bacon, meats, cheeses, yogurt, fruit, muffins, rolls, toast, cakes. They had a... More

A charming hotel in a great location. Would definately return. Lovely and clean with friendly staff. Close to the Grand Canal. Within easy walking distance of the Rialto Bridge, San Marco, and much more. Close to water buses etc. Room was lovely, quiet, with a huge bed. The breakfast room is small but that was no problem. The breakfast was... More

Great central location, with very helpful and attentive staff, rooms small but well appointed But some of the rooms in the roof are only suitable as single occupancy. Rather old fashioned that you have to pay for Internet

We really liked this hotel, it is one the best we have stayed in with a good location and very friendly and helpful staff. The situation is on a very quiet unimposing street, but it is within a few moments walk of the main thoroughfares and the stop for the water boats. The rooms are very comfortable with a choice... Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
