We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. This was nicest hotel we stay during our 2 1/2 weeks in Europe. We highly recommend this hotel. Our room was excellent. The hotel was warm, welcoming, clean and comfortable. Very easy to find in Venice and very centrally located to Rialto Bridge, Strada Nova, and other areas. Highly recommend this hotel stay.

3 for 3 on our European trip. Hotel was beautiful, staff friendly and great location. Would stay there again. Breakfast was good. Venice is beautiful but getting to and from the airport to the hotel is a job in and of itself. Pack lightly, you will be carrying it more than you think!

Quiet location yet close to San Marco which has a totally different feel at night and should be visited both during the day and at night to enjoy the full experience. The majority of the staff were pleasant and professional. Very helpful lady at reception on our 2nd day who also helped me to source a local hairdresser within close... More

Set in a lovely quiet area a short walk from the vaporetto, this hotel is stunning, the room we had was beautifully decorated in grand Venetian style and was very comfortable. We overlooked the small canal that passed the hotel which gave us the feel of being in Venice. While it was a quiet area it was only a 5... More

Wonderful hotel. Lovely staff, beautiful room and excellent location. Literally walk over bridge, through an alley and opposite the gondolas. The 'high street' was great and we bought a beautiful painting from a local artist. The free refreshments served at the hotel from 2pm until 10 where good and included coffee, tea, fruit juices, pastries and fruit. This was an... More

This hotel has a wonderful location. It's on a super quiet street and a tiny canal, but it's just a short walk down an alleyway (a calle) or two to the Strada Nova, which is a major pedestrian promenade, crowded with tourists. It's also between stops on two different vaporetto (water bus) lines, one on the Grand Canal, the other... More

Beautiful hotel with great complimentary breakfast and excellent happy hour. Here is an interesting tip: walk out of the hotel and turn left. Make your way all the way to the water (2 bridges, a zig and a zag). When you reach the water turn right and you will find the main transportation piers to all the out islands. Also... More

This is our third trip to Venice and I selected this hotel from its description on TripAdviser. Excellent hotel in a quiet location but close enough so it's only a short walk to the hussle and bussle. Loved the afternoon snacks and having coffee and tea available without using the rooms facilities. Room was a little on the small side... More

We took a water taxi which was a great way to arrive and a little trip up a couple of side canals from the Grand Canal. The hotel was in contact in advance of our arrival which was nice. We had three rooms, all a little different but all were wonderful. We had a junior suite which was split across... More

Stayed here for 4 days in July 2015. Overall the stay was fantastic. The hotel is well run and the staff are very attentive helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms, in fact the whole hotel, was clean, well maintained and very comfortable. I had been told that hotels rooms in Venice could be quite small. Not the case in our room (Executive... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
