Stayed here for 4 days in July 2015. Overall the stay was fantastic. The hotel is well run and the staff are very attentive helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms, in fact the whole hotel, was clean, well maintained and very comfortable. I had been told that hotels rooms in Venice could be quite small. Not the case in our room (Executive... More

We arrived and departed by water taxi which made life much easier as we were traveling with several pieces of luggage having spent the prior 2 week hiking through the Dolomites. The room was large, comfortable and well appointed. Staff was helpful and most pleasant. The recommendations they made for dinner were outstanding. The hotel had a very nice breakfast which... More

We stayed UNA for 2 nights before cruising. The location is good if you take water bus every day. 5 minutes walk to Strada Nova. If you walk to St. Mark Square, it takes about 20 minutes. The room is clean and spacious comparing with other Venice hotels. But my friend's room has a sewage smell. This made her very... More

This hotel is very clean and comfortable. Although it is in a quiet calle, it is only 2 minutes from Strada Nova in the Cannareggio area. The only negative was that the breakfast room does not have many tables, but this doesn't matter if it's not busy.

We stayed at Una hotel in early June to celebrate a "big birthday". Upon arrival, the gentleman at the Reception desk upgraded us to a superior room and gave us comprehensive information about the hotel. The hotel is in a quiet area of Venice but very close to Fundamente Nuove and the major sites are less than half an hour... More

This hotel was nice but a little hard to get to. The room was a good size - larger than other hotel rooms we've stayed in Venice, clean comfortable. The building and lobby do not have a lot of character. The breakfast room is very utilitarian. On the positive side, they offer light snacks in the late afternoon and a... More

This was a perfect hotel for me, little away from the crowd yet close to the shopping and tourist places. As I entered the hotel the receptionist welcomed me with a big smile and upgraded my room to a very spacious one. The staff offered us the complimentory afternoon snacks and evening tea/coffee/wine. The room was spacious with beautifull furniture,... More

SLIGHTLY away from the san marco pier- but it was very nice and very very clean- beds were very comfortable and the staff very polite- the breakfast was excellent- I think it is more quaint -for adults-couples but our 4 kids were warmly welcome.

Enjoyed our stay at UNA Hotel. The staff was prompt and attentive, no matter what time of day or night. We received good suggestions (and map routes) from reception when requested, even regarding transportation. It was nice to open the windows and lean out. The hotel is one bridge over from a main street with plenty of shops, booths, restaurants,... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
