SLIGHTLY away from the san marco pier- but it was very nice and very very clean- beds were very comfortable and the staff very polite- the breakfast was excellent- I think it is more quaint -for adults-couples but our 4 kids were warmly welcome.

Enjoyed our stay at UNA Hotel. The staff was prompt and attentive, no matter what time of day or night. We received good suggestions (and map routes) from reception when requested, even regarding transportation. It was nice to open the windows and lean out. The hotel is one bridge over from a main street with plenty of shops, booths, restaurants,... More

We stayed three nights at this hotel and don't have any negatives. The rooms were very clean, staff was helpful, and the location was great. We started off the first night in a Superior Room, which was a good size and had all the amenities needed. However, my husband surprised me with an upgrade to one of the suites for... More

First of all, Venice has a million hotels and a huge price range. I was worried about picking one that was on the inexpensive side because that can go so horribly wrong. UNA hotel was such a pleasant surprise. The rooms are very clean, and the staff is wonderful. They have a delicious breakfast, as well as coffee, little snacks... More

Hotel itself is located in one of the alley in Venice. Seems scary at first if you arrive at night time and you haven't been to Venice before. However, it is actually quite safe. Room decor is fabulous. It is very Victorian style with a huge chandelier in the middle. The room is a bit small, maybe the trend in... More

spent three nights here - found it very impersonal. We had difficulty getting much information on the city from the front desk - they were keen to send us to San Marco and Rialto Bridge and not much else! Thankfully we got our advice easily elsewhere.. Breakfast pretty good but bfast room small so you are not likely to hand... More

Dear Irishpuffin, thank you very much for your feedback, positive concerning the main features of the Hotel. We were sorry you found the staff directions “impersonal”. The majority of the feedback truly appreciates how the staff takes care of the clients and is always generous in praising the given directions. We look forward to welcoming you during your next holiday... More

Close to the centre of town down one of the back streets, our room was a good size, clean and exceptionally quiet. Had the best nights sleep I'd had in a while. The breakfast was also very good. We found service in Venice slow but this hotel was on top of it, always someone at reception to help. I would... More

Stay at this hotel for two nights and thorougly enjoyed our say here. Very easy to get to, even tho the hotel is tucked away in a beautiful scenic, quiet area away from the crowds. The breakfast was wonderful, and afternoon snacks were yummy as well. The staff at this hotel are just tremendous, the afternoon after we arrived there... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
